I believe the ones about him being chased from his home is quite true. He's trying to escape but his sins keep following him In the "There falls another..."part he gets wounded but manage to escape somehow In the 2 following parts he realize that he can change. Not necessarily for the better. "They are the trees.." part is his thoughts of this flock chasing him. He sees them as diseased and fake. They all constantly search for a salvation which doesn't exist This makes him realize how sick people really are and seeks for revenge. Releasing an insane rage on all mankind. But I'm probably more into that he doesn't kill anyone but leaves them suffering instead This could be a medieval witch hunt. Resolving in the hunted giving in to Satan or her/his own rage |
