Voltaire may mean the lyrics to be interpreted that way, but people interpret it in their own way. This song makes me feel the same as thepokeduck. It makes me think of a person who's loved one has coped with suicide for a long time, has contemplated it, thought about it, kept it on their mind, and finally attempted it. Maybe the loved one is reflecting on it. But you can also see what he is talking about for example, "as you stand there at the edge of your light what do you remember, was it all you wanted? i tried hard to save the feathery wings." This is a beautiful song... |

| This song means alot to me.. My family has had alot of problems for several years and my sister has a fiance now... and I can't help, but think that she's about to be gone... She never spends time with us anymore, she's barely ever home. It seems like she's pussing us aside for Kerk and my dad broke down a few weeks ago and seeing my dad cry.. was the worst thing that could happen because I've never seen him cry before and if anyone else has had this experience, it doesn't feel good. Seeing the person who's not supposed to cry and it just.. happens! The reason he broke down is because he feels like we're growing up so fast and he won't have us in the house any longer.. and my sister never spends time with us anymore, it's already happening.
