The Deviates – Turn It Down Lyrics 19 years ago
They're actually talking about the death of the punk culture.

"And as soon as it came it was gone, taking more than it gave" That just when it was at its peak, it become corrupted, destroying the culture in the process.
"False hope and our weakness lead us on and on and on" The various psuedo punk bands that attempt to capitlise the genre.

"And so we sing- "We are one; undivided, and we are here,"
and so we scream, "I am one independent," but no one hears." There is no unity anymore, and there is no individualism in the genre. That some bands are just copying each other to make more money. There is no pursuit of the music, just money.

"And so we sing all at once two different songs"
The fact there are still true punk bands out there, but alot of ones just capitalising off the market.

"And so it comes and goes, it serves us right." They they have only themselves to blame for letting it happen.

"I want to turn it down." That they've had enough dealing with it. Sick of listening on the radio.

Thrice – Blood Clots And Black Holes Lyrics 19 years ago
The suicidal tones aside, I think goffshas17 had it right when he said it was about hate.

The main repeating theme is the excessive use of medicine to cure. Sedation by amputation, Too much oxygen. And finishes with the comment that 'it's not medicine', as in its not curing the problem.
Your new blood, as in this is your new cure to try.

They're referring to the War on Terror, being used to heal the pains of 9/11. The change from Afghanistan to Iraq. The use of force to eradicate terrorists and provide justice for the victims.
That the motivation for it is hate, not love.
To be at peace, to not be Pro war is considered unamerican and sinful.
They're trying to say that the US is going about this the wrong way.
