Megadeth – Washington Is Next! Lyrics 17 years ago
Spencer, yeah right, the UN waged war unilaterally, against International Law, on Iraq and lost on Vietnam and Korea... and almost forgot it: The UN has Bush as president.

What a moron you are.

And just love the "First strike from a political dead man", as a pun between the president being dead or the order to attack given by an unpopular politician... Hmm, that reminds me of Bush's popularity... ain't ya think, buddies?

Megadeth – Blackmail The Universe Lyrics 17 years ago
I consider that this is the US making a casus belli looking for an excuse for an invasion, and the use of propaganda - for instance, the beginning of the song is a news report - to convince the population to go to war.
"Betrayal, I peel away the days/Medals are useless,/Uncle Sam’s forgotten me/I’m not important, no one will ever come/I’ll never be found, God get me out of this hell"; might be the part were a vet or a soldier is expressing his/hers pessimism as the soldier is going to die for anything politicians want to do, or even in the battlefield.
The "Vietnam thing" might be due to the invasion in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as in a nuclear war (MAD), there will be no winners.
And when he part of "appeasement..." begins, here we have more use of propaganda, and so on.

PS.: I wouldn't doubt that the Stinger missile were to be shot by an American/Israeli organization such as CIA and/or Mossad in order to have a casus belli.

Molotov – Frijolero Lyrics 18 years ago
It's about the immigration issue between Mexico and USA . Specially the treat that the Migra (referring to police and Minute Man) gives to Latin Americans in general and, Mexicans in particular.

Es acerca de la inmigración entre México a E.U. Especialmente del trato que la Migra da a los Latinoamericanos en general, y los Mexicanos en particular.

Bad Religion – Grains of Wrath Lyrics 18 years ago
I consider "Grains of Wrath" as the wars that USA has being doing to foreign countries and the "monoculture whores" as many within the US government use propaganda, produces and sell weapons, encourages imperialistic ambitions and provoke people to fear so they can have their war, and so the USA economy is based mostly on oil prices and the weaponry industry, so in order for these people to obtain gain, they press government to have wars and so on.

PS.: Sorry for the Double-Post.

Bad Religion – The Biggest Killer in American History Lyrics 19 years ago
Well, considering that the US government has invaded many countries I may suggest that there are MANY "The Biggest Killer in American History" since the end of World War II according to international laws (yes, in lowercase) due to the invasion of almost every country in the world. So it would be like every president since Truman to our behated Commander in Chief.
I would like to know the exact date of the release of the album... but what if The Biggest Killer in American History could be about US government policy about nuclear weapons?

Nightwish – The Kinslayer (feat. Ike Vil) Lyrics 19 years ago
Understanding the root of the problem will work, but who will want to face the fact that the whole society is responsible? And I mean, the responsability to know what our interaction with the others causes any reaction to the people we have in front. I don't want to know the reaction of the public opinion if the guys who made the Columbine Massacre were afroamericans or latinamericans, in the same circumstances and motivation than Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had.

PD.: Anyway, there is a problem discrimination in the USA.

Bad Religion – Slumber Lyrics 19 years ago
Well, VullNoid, if you're saracastic then SURE you'll find sarcasm in the song. I would consider it ironic or sardonic - humor tends to be useful to handle one's life -, that are very different from sarcasm... Huh, 2 years later WTH.
I agree with JASGripen in part. But I would add: "Don´t worry, you are soon going to die, so... why don't you try to enjoy and give a meaning to your life instead of feeling depressed?", or in other words if you go to a burial, don't ask how the person died but how the person lived.
