It's his imagination after being rejected. He wants to make himself feel better after she said something cruel. So he creates a fiction about something controlling her, so he can still believe the good in the past was real but the cruel ending was because the evil robots controlled her. The "paper columnist" is just being whimsical I believe. |

It's a breakup song. She is breakin gup with him and he doesn't want to talk about it because it hurts too much. That's why he disagrees with the phrase that "words can't kill me". And as another posted above, he wants to avoid the discussion by mentioning the spider on the wall. Re: algebra, I'd assume this is a girl he sat near in algebra class and now he wishes he had studied instead of falling for her. |
