oh and i also forgot to say that the name of Andrew's gf was Krystal, which is why konstantine is spelled with a "k". konstantine reminds me of kryptonite.. like it's his weakness or something. |

i read somewhere that when he was "lying in a patch of four leaf clovers" he was cheating on his gf and she found out about it. if this is true, that's very ironic. another point of irony: 11:11 is time when you're supposed to wish and be happy/get good luck/whatever and i think he's saying 11:11 is when she wants to talk about him cheating, which is too late. i always thought this song was after the a-bombs dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki. in the seconrd verse where it reads: "But all the news reports recommended that I stay indoors Because the air outside will make Our cells divide at an alarming rate" it's like saying the air was toxic, just like after an atomic bomb hits. when japan was bombed, many people died years later of radiation poisoning in their lungs. also, i've been to hiroshima and to the museum about ww2 and there is a set of steps there showing a man's silhouette going into the library. the light was so bright from the bomb that silhouettes were actually imprinted into the ground, and still stay there today. i particularly like the part where it says: "And I'm screaming at the top of my lungs Pretending the echoes belong to someone Someone I used to know" because it's saying that he knows this is going to be a traumatic experience and he is already trying to forget his screams. but the first part of the song does sound like a love song. but just when he says "pictures of you" because it shows that despite what's going on, he still thinks about his love. |
