I think the parts about leaving for a place from another time is about memories more than anything... I can't really see the suicide theme, but that's just my interpretation anyway... I've thought about the "I'm in the way" part a lot, 'cause I couldn't quite figure out how that fitted with the rest. I think it might be her getting used to the idea that he's gone, she's still alive, and searching for someone's who's no longer there, or in a "better place" (if you believe that) is like being in the way. Like the people we loose, they don't want us with them, they want us to go on with our lives. The "outro" is so good. The entire song gets to me, but that part especially. It hits a little too close to home. |
