| Kane – Alone Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I think you're right! I never actually wondered what the song was about until I read your comment here! I just love the 'despair' in his voice when he sings the "I don't know why, and I don't know where to go" But than again, I love everything he does! |

You're right, this is not from Kane. (at least not the Dutch band Kane from The Hague) Wonder how the lyrics got here in the first place... |

He did write the song himself, he writes everything himself... And yes, his wife died of cancer, just as his best friend (whom he names his first born son after) Maddie, died from cancer. This song can't be about losing Guusje to cancer though, since she was still alive when he wrote it. |

| Christina Aguilera – I'm OK Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think she did write this song all by herself, because she has lived it. But I guess if you've never lived like this, you would never know what it does to you. I am so happy she wrote this song. It is an amazing song just putting into words everything perfectly. "And every day I'm afraid to come home In fear of what I might see there" When you've never left your house, what's supposed to be your home, in the morning to go to school not knowing if your mother would be alive by the time you'd get home, or how badly she would be beaten up, you don't know what this song means. You can NEVER KNOW what that feels like. Its just a life that nobody deserves, except for the abusers. They would deserve to feel this kind of pain. To see you mother get beat up, as if she were a ragg doll, LITERALLY THROWN across the room. To be FORCED to watch the beatings, to be beat up yourself. To go to school not knowing what you'll find when you get back... it's not a life. |

This song, man, just listen to the lyrics. How can it not rock your world?! This is a song that describes how you can feel about somebody or even a place. Those that have found their sanctuary are blessed, truly blessed. |

| Anouk – Everything Lyrics | 19 years ago |

can't believe no one has posted on this one yet! It is an amazing STRONG song, definitely one I can relate to... over and over again. She just rocks... "It's the strangest thing that I can feel so much for someone, somehow"... most true.. it is strange.. "You mean everything to me".. a line that many millions of people use WAYY TOO OFTEN without realizing what they're actually saying. Probably 1 out of 1000 people MEAN it when they say it. You'll only know for sure if it's true "when you're not here, I (could) die". After you've lost that person that meant everything to you (to death), you KNOW he meant the world to you. You just know that without him your life literally stops. And not in that sad way of "i need you" or "I'm lonely" or whatever. After all, you would miss anyone when you're alone, or when you're sad. It's when things in life are going great and you still have that aching feeling, that burning feeling inside you because you KNOW that with him things would be different, better, the best. That's what "EVERYTHING" means and I wish people would stop just saying it for the sake of saying it. Or for dramatic effect. They don't know what it means. |

| Nickelback – Never Again Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Unlike what someone has said, this is not a pointless post. People expressing their opinions is never pointless. This song is the reason I started listening to Nickelback. Funny cause I don't reven remember how I first came across it. I probably downloaded 'how you remind me' and clicked this one as well. The sole reason I visit their concerts is this song. I went to their show (Long Road), not expecting them to do this song, so when they did it, it hit me hard. Needless to say (like most people who feel strongly about this song), I come from exactly that 'home', rather house, that is described in the song. I absolutely love this song. Lyrically this is such a strong song. It's awesome.. just that. |

| Evanescence – The Only One Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Unlike a lot of people this was one of the songs I immediately loved off of the new album (Together with Sweet Sacrifice), melodically speaking. When considering lyrics I loved Lithium and Like You the most. I don't know, all the different explanations make sense I guess. Interpretations are always individual. Everyone's perception of things differ as we are all individuals. I thought, unlike someone who posted here before, that the beginning of the song, the interlude sorta thingy, was actually French.. and that tuna afternoon was: Tous l'amours. (But since no one else has talked about that, I don't know). |

| I actually prefer the Jeff Buckley version, although this one is pretty damn good as well. I particularly like the beginning of the song, the humming...it's beautifully done | |
| Kane – Our Hearts Will Beat as One Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Again.. no words. Extremely beautiful. The lyrics are pretty straightforward. Nevertheless beautiful. I love this song. It's a beautiful expression of what and how he feels about his significant other. | |
| Kane – Love is Blindness Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
A song originally sung by U2. A cover therefore. Kane never does covers but they did this one as a tribute to U2 along with a couple of other songs of U2 (Running to stand still, Acrobat, Unforgettable fire, Electric Co, Where the streets have no name, One, With or without you, I will follow) and they released on dvd and cd. It was way back in the day when they weren't nearly as 'big' as they are now. Nevertheless Dinand sings this song with SO much emotion, it is BEAUTIFUL. The lyrics (I really don't know who wrote them), but they are really ... o my gosh.. I don't have the words to express what I'm thinking here. They are extremely good. Extremely beautiful. And so very right. I love this song. I love the version of Kane more than that of U2. Dinand just puts more emotion into it. Have a listen and decide for yourself. |

| Kane – I Will Keep My Head Down Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Dinand, the leadsinger of the band, wrote this song for his loved ones that passed away. And there were a lot of those in his life. It's about dealing with the death of someone you love. "My will is empty I'm counting ev'ry minute ev'ry hour ev'ry day And I see you slowly fade along the way" That part particularly emphasizes this. When you lose someone that meant a lot to you, you're actually counting every minute, every hour, every day and as time passes their face fades away, their voice fades away. Everything just fades. Except for that feeling, that burning feeling. That feeling of emptiness. You just miss that person so much. Time goes by SO slowly. "And though I'm spinning and I can't sleep These thoughts around me When all I've given you means nothing, nothing And though I'm spinning and I can't sleep I cannot bring you back" You can't sleep, you can't eat, you don't want to sleep, you don't want to eat, you don't wanna do anything after you've lost someone that close to you. You just want them back. You wanna be held by them again, you wanna hear their voice again, see them laugh again, or even cry, as long as they're here again. A beautiful song this is. It's a pitty because Dinand's voice is much better Live, than it is on the cd. I love to watch him live because he puts SO much emotion in his music, he really truly LIVED what he's singing about, he KNOWS what he sings about, he FEELS what he is singing. And watching that is breathtaking. It sometimes even feels as if I'm invading his privacy because he can get SO deep into the music that you can't do anything else than go there with him. Specially if you've been through what he's singing about. I know that no two experiences of two different people are the same. Trust me I realise that. But at the same time I know what he is singing about, particularly in this song, because I've been unfortunate enough as to lose loved ones of mine too. I can't put in to words how much I admire Dinand for being able to get up on stage and sing about these things. I know I couldn't. I could never display myself like that to the world, I could never put my heart out there for the world to see. The concerts are for like 40.000 people and he just does that, he gets up there and sings about these things and gets into his music SO deep that he barely realises there are people around him. I dunno what else to say. I respect him. And I love his voice. I love the bands music. I just love Kane. They rock! |
