Coldplay – Bucket for a Crown Lyrics 18 years ago
Just heard this for the first time and looking forward immensly to the studio version! Love the string accompaniment (sp)

Coldplay – Help Is Round the Corner Lyrics 18 years ago
I like the fact that you can hear traffic at the end - probably Lonodn trafiic. It shows the song was recorded in an intimate studio, which gives it that feel.

Coldplay – For You Lyrics 18 years ago
I was introduced to this song by a Q Magazine review of the singles collection. After finding it, I was delighted - the song is so beautiful! It truly is an amazing song on all levels. The early Coldplay songs are much prefered by me than the keyboard drenched sound of late. Beautiful, emotional acoustic songs are what they do best.

The Beatles – Hey Bulldog Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is, excuse the pun, the dogs bollocks. That riff, Johns voice; it packs so much balls into 3 and a bit minutes.

Oasis – Lord Don't Slow Me Down Lyrics 19 years ago
A rocking Lyla-esque tune that hopefully, according to rumours, is released in February.

Oasis – One Way Road Lyrics 19 years ago
This is the one that was covered by Paul Weller? And used for the theme of Jack Dee's Lead Balloon? And on his Studio B150 album?

Oasis – Setting Sun Lyrics 19 years ago
This is the 90's take on The Beatles' Tomorrow Never Knows. Its fairly similar, with the ostinato beat and samples. Noel does the drum work as well!
Noel apparently wrote and recorded the lyrics in the studio in one afternoon. 'Your body is young but yor mind is very old' has been used by him somewhere else, but I cannot remember in which song.

Oasis – Cast No Shadow Lyrics 19 years ago
The football film 'GOAL!' has a re-recorded version of this, done with Noel on vocals and UNKLE lending a huge hand with the instrumental. Its one of Noels finer moments and perfect for the film. Great tune.

Oasis – Better Man Lyrics 19 years ago
This and Columbia are the best Oasis grooves. Live versions of this song are better than the record as well, maybe a revival of it on the next tour would be appreciated?
Unless the next album is better than DM...

Oasis – Street Fighting Man (The Rolling Stones cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
This is perfect for travelling with your headphones really loud. There is such bluster to this song, everything is so loud, probably due to the time it was recorded (Be Here Now Era).
A good cover nonetheless.

Oasis – Guess God Thinks I'm Abel Lyrics 19 years ago
If you all look at youtube, Liam and Gem play a version on an Irish television show and its stripped down to just the guitar and Liam. It sounds tender and an Oasis song from Liams heart. Theres also an interview with Liam and hes friendly!?! Rubbishes the media hyped 'bad boy' balls.

Oasis – Can Y'see It Now? (I Can See It Now!!) Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is great, its very simple and 'summery'. As Louis Walsh would say 'I lIke It'.

Oasis – Take Me Lyrics 19 years ago
I would like to differ to the above comments.
This song is crap! Noel openly rips it with the other song Bonehead and Liam wrote, 'Acoustic'.
I cant understand how this can be better than something Scooch did, let alone the songs on DM and DBTT.

Oasis – Songbird Lyrics 19 years ago
Hello handsdown4dbeatles,
The only way i got it was to check on Limewire. I first heard the demo when Songbird came out as a single and Chris Moyles played the demo on his show.
So look on Limewire, it should still be on there.

Oasis – (Probably) All In The Mind Lyrics 19 years ago
The best part of this song is the improvised part at the end with the mage rumbling chors and johnny marrs solo... tis a highlight of heathen chemistry.

Oasis – Rockin' Chair Lyrics 19 years ago
I think the above comment deserves all out war against the cage.

Oasis – Part of the Queue Lyrics 19 years ago
An amazing percussion driven feel to this song, Zaks drumming an 3/4 and the Cuban percussionist add so much more to a track that only would have been filled with a mellotron a couple of years beforehand.

Oasis – (It's Good) To Be Free Lyrics 19 years ago
This is Noels best guitar song. His guitar playing has so many levels to it in his song, many slag him off but this song confirms his status as the one of the great guitaring Brits.

Oasis – Underneath The Sky Lyrics 19 years ago
This song has such a wonderful sound to it, the guitar is immense, Whiteys drumming is at its peak and Liams voice is just so.. perfect. The only song i can think of to end the way it does, with the Gallagher growl at the top of its game. Simply superb and yet another Oasis b-side that just beats everything in the charts.

Oasis – To Be Someone Lyrics 19 years ago
It was on the album 'All Mod Cons' by The Jam, and Noels version was very personal to him at the time, after the Britpop bluster and the Cocaine-Kicking he undertook lol.

Oasis – My Generation (The Who cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
Now Zak is Oasis' drummer they can play this song properly. And my god dont they. A fitting end to the set on the last tour.

Oasis – Helter Skelter (The Beatles cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
I like this cover. Oasis were going through a bad period at the time and it comes through with great dignity. I never liked The Beatles version so this one is more up my street.
But dont listen to the version on Familiar to Millions, thats embarrassing.

Richard Ashcroft – Keys To The World Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this track, but Ashcroft has used the chords before.
Weeping Willow was the first song they cropped up in, then Check the Meaning, now this. The melody of Check the Meanin is here as well.
But the chords and melody work so well, so it doesnt matter that three songs by the same artist all sound the same. Especially when that artist is Richard Ashcroft.

Richard Ashcroft – Cry Til The Morning Lyrics 19 years ago
Nobody has commented this song!
This is a real beauty from a resurgent Ashcroft, the man that has rediscovered his talent.
A real album highlight.

Oasis – You've Got The Heart Of A Star Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a great song, but its Noels attempt at 'Born on a Different Cloud'.
Its a good attempt though.
Like 'She is Love' is his attempt at 'Songbird', Liam brings the best out of Noel at the moment.

The Verve – Life's An Ocean Lyrics 19 years ago
Its not just the lyrics, Nicks guitar playing is incredibly emotive. He had so much atmosphere to his playing, its a shmae we never ever see him doing anything now, he was a special talent.

Oasis – Pass Me Down The Wine Lyrics 19 years ago
Oasis have so many brilliant b-sides, often being better than the album tracks themsleves. Carry Us All, Pass Me Down The Wine, Round Are Way and obviously the load on The Masterplan, other bands would sell their souls for the Oasis b-side collection.

Oasis – Songbird Lyrics 19 years ago
Has anybody heard the demo of Songbird?
Personally i prefer it, although the album version is beautiful, the demo is electric and it sounds great!
