| Marilyn Manson – This Is Halloween Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Oh, and might I mention that a band called "ZombiePosessor" made an instrumental version of this song, and it doesn't sound half bad, truth be told. | |
| Marilyn Manson – This Is Halloween Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I especially like the "Pumpkin Song" bit at the end. All of the "La's" just add to the creepy feel of the song. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! | |
| Marilyn Manson – This Is Halloween Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I was obsessed with this song since I saw the movie, and now that I've heard the Manson version, I can say that it's AWESOME! The way he sings it, it's like he makes the song his own. It's so much better than the original, because he adds that SINISTER tone to it that it so needed. I DO like the Panic! at the disco version, but Manson just takes the cake. Hell, the cake, the napkins, and the silverware... | |
| Lamb of God – Redneck Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with some of you. It' talking about a person who's fooling themselves into thinking that people still respect them when, in fact, they are "A laughing stock of your own fucking stage". I like this song, it makes me think of a few certain people that are the same way. | |
| Lamb of God – Laid to Rest Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
K, I don't know about the rest of you, but I think it's about forgetting the past. "And bleach out the stains, commit to forgetting it You're better off empty and blank, than left with a single pathetic trace of this Smother another failure, lay this to rest" That' almost says it straight out. What tipped me off was the "Lay this to rest" line. |

| I agree with jewisharific, in that it could go both ways. | |
| Nancy Sinatra – Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| like everyone here, I heard this song first in Kill Bill. I think it was a a woman who fell in love with a childhood friend while they would play a game, probably cowboys 'n indians (we rode on horses... shot me down), and that later he left her without a word (he didn't take the time to lie). it's a very good song, the lyrics have very good meaning. | |
| Avenged Sevenfold – Trashed and Scattered Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think that Dr. Tobias Funk has a point there... A CRAZY point, mind you, but a GOOD crazy point. Seriously, it'd fit in well, wouldn't it? | |
| Staind – For You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Okay, roger wilco, I'm practically already living on my own. My Mom is never home, I don't even know my Father's name, I've been shot twice, I've been fired from eight, I repeat, eight jobs (Apparently, if someone says "Go back to your own country", and he's your boss, you STILL can't attack him.), and I've been a mental asylum three times for depression. I'm only 16. Trust me, I KNOW my life isn't gonna get any better, but it can't get any WORSE either, now can it, roger wilco? | |
| Staind – For You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is my bloody theme song. I just wish I could get my Mom to listen, for once in 16 years, to what I'm actually saying. She never listens to what I'm truly saying. She always assumes that I'm going to make the wrong choices about my friends, girlfriends, jobs, dreams, EVERYTHING. She never trusts me, and I haven't done anything to break her trust, EVER. She just doesn't trust me, I guess, because of my musical choices. Staind is my all-time favorite band, but she still thinks I need to listen to "Good ole' Christian Music"... Bull. Staind makes me feel good, and, as long as it keeps me off of drugs, I'm stickin' with it... Anybody with me? | |
| Metallica – Invisible Kid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it's about a person who has isolated himself from everyone, physically and emotionally, because he couldn't stand the shit that people gave him (Got a place of his own, Where he'll never be known-- Locked away in his brain, From the shame and the pain), and that, even though he want's to be alone, he still want's someone to care for him (I hide inside, but I'll show you...--I'm OK, please don't stray too far). |

| Metallica – I Disappear Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| To necrocide... You're good. I never would have thought of it that way. | |
| Metallica – Battery Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is about the uncontrollable rage and energy you get from an act of Battery i.e. beating the shit out of someone. Think about the violent lyrics: Pounding out aggression turns into obsession cannot kill the Battery --------------------------- Crushing all deceivers, mashing non-believers never ending potency Hungry violence seeker, feeding off the weaker Breeding on insanity Just think about it. Most of this song is about the act of Battery. |

| Metallica – Sweet Amber Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I read on wiki that some of the lyrics came from when the band was doing an interview in a radio station, and the station wanted Metallica to saay these really cheesy lines, and Metallica didn't want to. Then, they realized that, if they didn't do what they were told, the station might not play songs from their new album and James commemted that they had to "Wash your back so you don't STAB mine". OTher than that, i got no clue. Maybe just doing stuff you don't want to do just to get what you want. | |
| System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I forgot to mention that the song's working title was once "Suicide"; the band members claim the change was not caused by pressure from their record company. The words "We're rolling 'Suicide.'" can still be heard in the final cut's opening seconds. | |
| System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I only know of two meanings. 1.)Daron Malakian is quoted to have said: "The song is about how when people die, they will be regarded differently depending on the way they pass. Like, if I were to die from a drug overdose, everyone would say I deserved it because I abused drugs, hence the line 'Angels deserve to die'.". 2.) The lyrics refr to the sacrifice of Jesus and imply that it was of no relvancy and so is faith in it hense the words "Trust in my self righteous suicide" and sugest that Jesus expected a flock of angels to come down from heaven and take his place hense "I cry when angels deserve to die" and "...why have you forsaken me?" In the lyrics, there are referenses made on the last words spoken by Jesus before his death on the cross. Both Gospel of John (“Father into your hands I commend my spirit”) and the sinoptic gospels (“Why have you forsaken me?”) are referenced. |

| System of a Down – Question! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It has alot to do with re-incarnation and life after death ("Where do, where do we go, when we DIE?"). To understand the song better, you have to watch the music video. You see a gray boy shoot a RED bird with a slingshot... The bird dies... A woman dressed in RED falls and dies... The woman is being euthanized... A baby draped in a RED cloth is born. They are all tied together (RED) in a cycle of rebirth. Shavo actually had an image of the video in a nightmare, which is probably why it looks kind of like a dream. | |
| System of a Down – Aerials Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Zero36 is right. It's about a kid in a wheelchair who see's aerials (acrobats) in the sky, and thinks that they are the best, while a regular person thinks they are just regular people. It's about how different situations can cause different views of the world. Basically, it's saying that everyone has a different opinion, because everyone's had different experiences than you have. | |
