I found this song very similar to a monastic chant, like a form of prayer. Quite powerful. |

That's what i love about Kate Miller-Heidke's stuff. Its just so real and so easy to relate to and when you see her perform you think "she's so talented and beautiful, she can't have the same issues as me" but you hear her lyrics and its just so... real.
Now i'm repeating myself |

About having a relationship that is over, but still holding on to nothing, saying goodbye but not going anywhere. Knowing it has to end, but not actually letting it end. |

i think its about having an argument with your partner and focusing on the things that brought you together in the first place.
And having lots of make up sex. Of course |

I thought the song was a bit more about introspection. I imagine he is looking in a mirror and seeing himself and thinking about his own opinions of himself |

| Missy Higgins – The Special Two Lyrics

When i first heard it, I thought it was about being cheating on someone too. But i think that is a reflection of my own life experiences.
My sister thinks it isn't about cheating, but about keeping something hidden and not being entirely truthful and how it takes its toll on the relationship. Like not acknowledging to your family you are with a person and that person getting tired of not being acknowledged. But that's probably shaped on her life experiences |

when i went to her concert, she said this song was about someone who had died. She didn't say it was her sister though
my favourite bit is
"I knelt before some strangers face,
I'd never have the courage or belief to trust this place,
But I dropped my head, 'cos it felt like lead,
And I'm sure I felt your fingers through my hair... "
She mentioned how she went into a church after it happened and knelt down before a statue of Mary and felt as though she was touched. I found it quite moving when she shared that with us, especially as she admitted she wasn't a religious person |

| Eskimo Joe – London Bombs Lyrics

I heard an interview on the radio with one of the band members and apparently the girl he liked had gone to England and he decided to send her an email saying how he felt and she wrote back saying that she couldn't take in what he said right away because the london bombs had just happened. |
