i think Nothing is talking to God when he sings, because he says "In my eyes I see free deliverance Not ever lasting such is punishment" hes talking about religion (Christianity for the most part) being a hypocritical way to get eternal life which "Not ever lasting such is punishment" is punishment, because who honestly wants to live forever? I think the chorus is saying that he doesnt want to live forever(Heaven) but he doesnt want to go to hell and BURN forever so hes lost and doesnt know what to do. Hes saying One more day to regret because its one day closer to his death, which he fears greatly because either way its something he despises. I used to be like this, i used to fear going to heaven because i didnt want to live forever, i want to be happy here not be happy FOREVER. Thats a long ass fucking time i dont think that you people that want eternal life know what your getting into. but then i realized happiness doesnt last forever, its impossible, there is no possible way there is eternal life after we die. Happiness would no longer be happiness if it was forever, it would become too monotonous to be happiness anymore because happiness always has to end. that also goes with love and LIFE, but that makes it all the more precious. Live life to the fullest and no matter what happens dont give up. Thats the kind of hope that this song gives to me. anyways sorry for preaching lol im done |

for some reason im gonna have to dissagree with all of you. because i think that the "condemned man convicted man" is Jesus, i think Nothing is saying that hes done so many bad things that he cannot be saved from Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. When he says "walking through a world, never asked to be here" he not saying "I" never asked to be here. Hes saying WE never asked to be here. like we didnt give "God" (personally i dont believe in a maker) permission to make this world for us, he just did it without our consent. when he says "the fool that fell from heaven" hes talking about Jesus. "Maybe we're all the children of a star, misguided in direction, our misdirection." Maybe "God" didn't make us maybe we're just the biproducts of nature, evolution, and natural selection. We're "misguided in direction" by religions that say we are made by "God". When he says that truth doesnt exist i think hes talking about the ultimate truth, the truth of life, the reason we're here. Because thats one of the only things that we dont know the truth to, and well i doubt there is a reason we're here. All the truth that we have is our "versions of the truth" which lie within each of us. The reason that we are alive lives within us, we have to make it up, whether it be that we ultimately have no purpose or something else. I believe that we aren't here for any particular reason, but i do believe that our life has a purpose. I bet this contains many contradictions, but I tried my best. I could also be completely wrong too. Oh well. |

| i believe this song is about saving urself from the lies of religion. in order to see what it means you have to put in your mind that religion is evil, particularly christianity. i know you people probably get pissed off because you think LOG isnt about religion. but look at theyre fucking name, i mean lamb of god? i think its mocking jesus in a way because theyre preaching against religion and are the metal saviors in a way, theyre trying to save people from taking up religion or if they already had to eradicate your beliefs. there is no fucking way that lamb of god are religious, to me they are obviously free thinkers and hate religion. to say they dont write music about religion is stupid because they have a religious name, but not in a good way if your religious yourself. personally i absolutely cannot stand religion, all it is is a bunch of lies they feed to you be good on this planet. im not even gonna get into it because this isnt about religion its about lamb of god. now if some of you people get pissed off or something because you love lamb of god and the fact that i think they have anti-relgious lyrics offends you in some way, then grow the fuck up and take in what other people have to say dont bash them for it. its my oppinion but dont get pissed off like a little girl because of it. | |
