| Animal Collective – Unsolved Mysteries Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Why must we move on From such happy lawns Into nostalgia's palm And feed on the traces this is my favorite part. its saying that people live out their childhoods so happily, either because one is naturally more happy as a child than an adult, or due to nostalgia people remember things happier than they were. so when people become adults they strive to become as happy as they were when they were kids, which can never happen because they weren't even as happy as they remember. its an illusion. so hes saying he wishes we could remain children forever. the second half reminds me of a bird or mouse in the hand of a man feeding on some grains, in this vulnerable position that shows how much power man has over a small animal. this is symbolic of the power time has over man. man is in nostalgia's palm feeding on the good memories always. as for the other 95% of the song im clueless |

| of Montreal – City Bird Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i can't believe no one has taken the song literally... what if it is just about a tiny, hopeless bird that has grown up on the streets of a major city, learning not how to fly like it should but learning to toil on the barren cement wastelands that is New York or Toronto or Chicago? the narrator presses the bird to fly away, and escape to his vast kingdom in the sky, but he refuses, choosing instead to take crumbs from city dwellers and then, the narrator's revelation at the end reveals that maybe the city bird can fly, it just chooses not to because of the happiness it knows it brings to the innocent yet dreary city dwellers, spending day and night without seeing nature |

| Sloan – Who Loves Life More? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
this song is great it is clearly about the question of Who Loves life More, the guy who works his ass off all his life and retires with a nice house and family or the guy who has fun and is care-free all his life in the end...he "has to suggest" that a "small dose of both would be best" meaning that you can live a little of both lives and be the happiest |

| Sloan – I Am The Cancer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think this song is about people leaving and someone is dying of cancer...the i am he cancer part is like saying he wishes that the person didn't have cancer...the i havn't got a dime part is refering to the need for money to survive cancer but he doesn't have any | |
