this song is awesome. my only issue on the live version is how low he whispers. i have to crank up the volume just to hear him. as for the meaning, well unless i am reading into it wrong, it is about a love he hasn't got over. obviously they are still in communication when he returned. she appears to be his muse for the writing he does. imo she has moved on, and he is reminiscing with her. i esp like the part where he talks about the band playing the same 3 chords. the humor helps make it lighten up and not make it terribly depressing. |
