i agree with the majority of the comments here.
this song makes me so sad though. it kind of worries me about my own life and future though. i really don't want to wake up one day with basically everything that i THOUGHT i wanted and say, "man...is this it for me? how disappointing." i've felt like that in the past, and it's definitely not a pleasant feeling. |

this is the first song i learned to play on the flute. i love it so much.
i'd like to say it's about suicide, but that just seems to easy lol i kind of have a hard time figuring out AFI's lyrics though. instead of suicide though, i like to think of it as killing yourself, but not literally. maybe in a metaphoric way like becoming a new person. killing the person you used to be to become a better person.

to me, this song is about a person who is very lonely and they have this "friend" who likes to make jokes about others who are lonely. maybe because they're 'weird' or they don't seem to fit in. but the narrator doesn't find any of the jokes funny at all because he sympathizes. |
