These lyrics are out in a lot of ways, which is weird, since the booklet has them printed out. Can't check right now, but I'll post up the corrrect versions when I remember. |

Actually, a quick googling reveals that I'M wrong. St Elsewhere was a hospital series, and at the end it was revealed that the whole thing was the imagination of an autistic kid. Most of my points still stand, though. |

Nice idea, Locheim, but you're wrong. St Elsewhere is the name of a mental institute. The song, as far as I can make out, is a mellow look at the themes of depression, schizophrenia and madness throughout the album. It looks (to me) like he's singing about leaving this world for his own, make-believe world in his head, as he can't cope with the pressures on him in this world. If people need him, he'll be there for them, but until then, he'll be in his make-believe world. And the asylum reference shows the actual truth - he's going insane. |

Nah, red hot fan's right.
Simple definitions, kids!
Goth: A person with a depressive outlook on life, generally a deep-rooted and long held outlook. May be a fan of the occult, generally fairly cool and well-balanced once you get past the anger at life.
Emo: A shallow teenager (or perpetual teenager) who is emotionally unable to cope with the things that everyone else in the world can cope with just fine. Unlike goth, does not believe that the world is shit, just their bit of it.
Oh, and saying that emo is a dead genre from the 90s? Maybe. Fugazi, Rites of Spring, etc were brilliant bands. The modern 'emo' is a watered-down, radio-friendly 'pop' version of this, listened to by people who like to think they're outsiders by buying into these corporate bands. |

'Now Adam’s taking bombs'
I always saw that as a pun. Adam is pretty similar to atom - ergo a pun on atom bomb (I actually heard it as 'Atoms taking bombs' the first few times). Could be wrong though. |

Yeah, it surprised the hell outta me when I found that out. The close-ups of the dark-haired boy look a bit feminine, but whenever you get a shot of the whole face, it's a very masculine face, especially the jawline - there's a couple of shots near the start, and one right at the end, that really do NOT look 'right' for a female face. But it apparently was a girl. |

I'm fairly sure that the 'I see London, I see Sam's Town' is a slight twist on the kids rhyme 'I see London, I see France. I see X's underpants!' It certainly came to mind the first time I heard the song. |

From Wikipedia, might be handy:
Idioglossia refers to an idiosyncratic language, one invented and spoken by only one or a very few people. Most often, idioglossia refers to the private languages of young children, especially twins. It is also called twin talk or twin speech. Children who are exposed to multiple languages from birth are also inclined to create idioglossias. |

punkghurl_317, you're a fucking idiot.
I think the song is just Axl trying to stir up as much controversy as he can, in the fairly normal GnR style. |

No, this isn't a Gorillaz song, it's Deltron 3030, completely different artist, a colaborration between Del tha Funky Homosapien, Dan the Automator, and Kid Koala, Gorillaz were never involved. Damon Albarn did backing vocals on a coupla songs, but that's all. |

| Nick Drake – Fly Lyrics

Probably my favourite of his songs, the contrast of the longing verses - "Please give me a second grace, Please give me a second face" to the ones where he accepts that it's over - "But she won't need to cry, For it's really too hard for to fly" is perfectly echoed by the high, pleading vocals in the first verse being shadowed by the low, almost spoken vocals in the second. |

Ah, great, GREAT song. Love the buildup from the folky intro to the much more metal chorus. Like most of their songs, it's about what Fitz said, going your own way. |
