Psychostick – In a Band to Get Chicks Lyrics 17 years ago
I think these lyrics are wrong... in the second verse, where it says:

Well I know they'll like me better
than that loser Eddie Vetter
Or James Hetfield 'cause
I know I'm better looking

I think it actually says:

Well I know they'll like me better
Than that singer guy named Chester
Or Aaron Lewis, 'cause
I know I'm better looking

I thought the lyric was "Cannot be your enemy." That's what it does in the animated video at least

Sugarcult – She's the Blade Lyrics 18 years ago
I had a completely different perspective of this song than seemingly everyone else here.

The way I see it is there are three people involved. Two girls, best friends, and one guy. Out of the two girls, one of them (Friend #1) always seems to make sure she's better than the other (Friend #2), any way possible. (she stole everything, she controlled everything) Especially when it comes to guys. Friend #2 is always so passive and just lets Friend #1 take control of any situation.

So Friend #2 falls really hard for this guy. REALLY hard. And the guy starts to like her back. Friend #1 cannot stand this, and starts going for the guy herself, and of course wins him over. Friend #2, being passive, allows this to happen (she's the blade and you're just paper), even though it makes her feel miserable, because she doesn't want to lose that friendship (you're backstepping and she's backstabbing/out wrecking everything in your life).

However, Friend #2 finally has enough of this and decides to stand up for herself and try to win the guy over that she loves (she stole everything your heart desired and now you want it back).

The first verse is how Friend #2 doesn't even try anymore (don't you make a move tonight, you can only stagger) because she knows Friend #1 will just take over anyway like she does any other time with any other person (once she's got you in her sights, you're the one she's after)

The second verse is after Friend #2 sticks up and they start fighting a lot and it doesn't mean much anymore because they aren't very good friends now anyway (one by one you count the fights, doesn't even matter). Surprisingly enough though, Friend #2 still feels miserable because while she might have gained new respect and the guy of her dreams, she lost her best friend (that she's got you by surprise, misery's your master
