| Bright Eyes – A Line Allows Progress, a Circle Does Not Lyrics | 19 years ago |

"And stop counting on that camera That hangs round your neck Because it won't ever remember What you choose to forget" These are definantly my favorite lines. This is one of the first songs I heard from Bright Eyes and it madde me crave more. I think the title has two meanings. Connor loves using hidden and double meanings. On one hand, it could be a line of cocaine. To a cocaine addict, a line could allow progress as he stated. And I believe he used the word "allows" for a reason. But this meaning doesn't exactly support the second line "a circle does not". But I don't necessarily think it needs a reason, as long as it has the ability to mess with the minds of his fans. The other meaning could just be about progressing in life and stating the obvious: that a line allows progress, a circle does not. But I think that's too blunt and obvious for Connor. |
