Gnomicide: I don't see how it doesn't make sense. "That strange sermon he gave accepting termination, new terrain." The logical progression is simple: every sermon Cole's given up to that point lambasted termination (abortion), which correlated with his picketing the clinic outside of town, how he turned 12 girls away from getting an abortion, etc. The second line refers to how, suddenly, his tune's changed and he's giving sermons saying it's okay to abort-- "new terrain." "I'm sure you'll come to accept it's 'germination due to rape.'" If those were the lyrics, the whole song wouldn't make sense, not just one line, heh. |

"i can definitely hear "due to rape"..." it's definitely not "due to rape." it wouldn't make sense, anyway; in the context of the song, it would be cole admitting he raped jeannie, which is an even worse admission than saying it's ok to abort. "accepting termination, new terrain" is the correct line. |

Wrong: "It rips you up, what you do, The pristine routine to fool the room. The gentle gentle movement of euphoria." Right: "if she knew what you do the pristine routine to fool the room the gentle gentleman, the lone lothario" The last line sung by the girl is "[started making] plans for dinner." Her first part is: "i was in the student union studying for an english quiz he came up and asked directions to the new auditorium we walked up and down the campus [not sure what she says in this line] he was so embarassed when he realized he had [unsure]" |
