Well I could be completely wrong here or maybe I am seeing this as a 3rd party observer (me being Canadian). But I believe this song is about both 9/11, the war in Iraq, and how Americans now treat people of middle eastern decent. Listening to this song I imagine a house on fire in Iraq and US soldiers standing by and watching. "under the veil of dust we go on" Very dry and dusty in Iraq "these worlds colide but the distance remains" US and Iraq have crashed into one another but they still are very different and opposed to one another. "will you save us like you saved them?" You saved the people in the buildings in 9/11, so why not us now? Once again this could be just a crazy theory but tell me what you guys think. |
