to me this song is about a girl who is afraid of takeing chances. There is a guy who really likes this girl but she is afraid of what might happen-she doesnt want to be hurt. The guy sees that she is lost and confused but he trys to keep himself from reaching out to her again because he has tried that before and she pushed him away.
i think there is a little bit more to it than that but i pulled that general idea out since i can relate. |

this is an awesome song, its the last song on the cd and it is one of my favorites.
i think this song is about living in a world full of lies and unfaithful friends. about just wanting to get away from all of the distractions and terrible thingsin the world. I think the song is talking about when you are in the midst of all of this just wanting one person to confort you and be there for you, and when you do findthis person you still have that fear that they might break the trust you have with them. yeah i am kinda in the same position as snowbeast...i love everything std does and i think that this is a good cd. Although Chris is losing that voice that we all love I think he worked hard and poured all of his emotions into sta and it came out well. I also thought it sounded like Tom was saying "church is scared to tell" at one point, but I think everyone can agree that it sounds alot like that. I dont think that is what he is actually saying though because Tom slurs words like that all the time when he sings.
Also more importantly I don't think that Tom would be accusing the church of having secrets they are scared to tell if he himself is a religious man. I just don' t think that makes any sense.

yeah that re-recording idea about pretty, pretty and open eyes should really be done. I jsut saw the Early Nov. at the cd release show in Philly for their new cd the mother, the mechanic, and the path. amazing cd. Anyways...the early november came back for an encore at the end and played open eyes it was incredible.
Ace didnt want to end on that song though becuase it was so old so they played another song.
Sergio didnt want the show to end so he spent all this time telling stories about how he met everyone in the band.
The they finally ended with Every nights another story. I just thought I'd share that since it was such an amazing concert. |

This is a such an amazing song. Ace is such a talented writer and musician. It looks alot like most of this song has been covered but i thought i would add my thoughts anyways. This song reminds me of most of the people in the world, people who only judge people from the outside and don't take the time to see who you actually are as a person. This song reminds me that when something isnt going your way like if a girl leaves you or a girl doesnt want to give you a chance, you need to fight for her wit heverything you have and show her that you truely care about her and that you need her. Sometime though, it gets to a point where you need to just let go and move on with your life and be happy becuase you only have a short time to live this life and there just isnt enough time to be wieghed down by things like that. ha this is something that I am still having trouble learning. So that is basically some of the random thoughts I have about this song. |
