| The good thing about ambiguous songs {especially Christian ones} that don't necessarily mention a who or what is that the listener can think about their earthly relationships AND the relationship God wants us to have with Him. God loves us just as we would love a husband or wife. Love songs like this can open a person’s mind to just how much God loves us but also be sung as a love song for your bf/gf. | |

Let me just start off by saying it’s obvious that this song has received a ton of responses… but I’d like to give my two cents even though it’s gonna end up on page 3. I think the song starts out talking about a certain relationship that needs to see “better days,” because the artist sings: “And you asked me what I want this year {obviously, for Christmas} and I’ll try to make this kind and clear.” The “kind and clear” part reminds me of after a fight, you kind of tip toe around the person, trying not to tick them off again. Like he’s singing, “I don’t want to make you mad but, I’d just like to quit arguing.” He also talks about not needing empty gifts, “designer love,” and that he just needs a “simple place” to live. I think he’s saying that he doesn’t need all the flashy stuff that the world says we need to be happy. {which, besides the MOST IMPORTANT fact that Christmas is about Jesus’ coming to Earth to save human kind, is kinda the point of Christmas. Christmas is not about flashy, designer gifts or gifts period. It’s all about Christ.} Let me point out that for an artist to use Biblical references in their work doesn’t mean that they are Christians. Satan knows and uses Scripture. {He twists it, but he still knows it.} So, the “one poor child who saved this world” probably refers to Christ. I kind of agree with Ezrah Karotan {back on the 1st page… if you want to look the blog up} who mentioned that stanza four could be a refrence to Christ but probably that every person has the potential to be a savior. I don’t really agree with the statement, but I agree that this song tries to portray that. There’s only One savior and that’s Jesus Christ. We can only become kind, caring, loving, selfless people if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. It’s obvious that the song transforms from a personal matter to speaking about global fighting and arguing once you hit the stanzas 4 and 5. The chorus also echoes a want to end global problems, but can also be used for on the personal level too. That’s what a makes a good song a good song. The song progresses from one meaning to an even bigger meaning and the chorus pretty much stays the same but sums it all up. By the way, I love the music in this piece. Another really cool point is, if you watch the music video, that the trees at the end have “Truth,” “Life,”{I think it says life, I couldn’t tell} “Faith,” and “Love” carved into them. These words are frequently used in the Bible and are also a key component of secular teachings on peace. |

| Lifehouse – The End Has Only Begun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Wow! I'm the second person to comment on this. Ahaha! Well, I heard this song and I immediately thought it was a Christian song. Maybe it's just me... But, I've heard Lifehouse is a Christian band, so it makes sense. Consider when Jason sings, "We walk in your footsteps". Well, we, as Christians, walk in God's footsteps and yes, we have our "ups and downs", because sometimes we disappoint God with our words and/or our actions.... "And these times just won't change. Life just stays the same. I'd give anything to see the light of day" sounds like he's crying out to see God's light. And "'Cause I've been too far away to hear you whispering" gives me another "clue" because sometimes God tells us stuff, but we don't hear Him because we're not listening... Maybe it's also about having a Godly relationship. Because the chorus sounds like a relationship to me... I'll just have to think about it some more... just thought I'd tell ya now while it's still on my mind. :D | |

| I really like this song. It's so true about our lives and how God can come in and just clean up. We give Him a lot of work to do, but He can do it all. Since, I'm into interior design, this song has even more special meaning. Love it!! | |
