I'm not sure if anyone else said this, but the main riff to this song sounds suspiciously similar to the main riff in "Home" by Dream Theater (which was released earlier then this song). Check it out they're both pretty good, intense songs. |

I have a lot to say about this song, but it's all pretty much been said already. anything missed can be found at www.thewallanalysis.com..... one thing that always caught my attention was at the end of the song, the TV sort of matches the lyrics at 2:52...
"Ooo babe, when I pick up the phone (TV: Surprise, surprise, surprise) there's still nobody home. |

This song is such a blatant copy off of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb." (which by the way was much better... my opinion). There's so many obvious similarities. the cord progression at the chorus, the haunting guitar solo, the orchestra, etc... i'm not a queensryche fan despite the fact that I like their genre. I just think that the lead singer adds so much needless emotion that it just sounds corny. that's why it was in VH1's worst metal songs. and it's not just this song, it's every song. every time i listen i think "come on, bro. knock it off, dramaqueensryche..." |

It's actually a sad song despite the upbeat tone. It seems to me that the singer is describing a happy love situation downstairs and everyone is invovled in the whole circle of life thing but the singer is alone upstairs with nobody and the job of making these people happy. it's no easy task because he's pretty much faking all these love emotions that he's not experiencing and trying form them into words as light as the birds. |

p.s. if you enjoy trying to interpret vague, esoteric meanings in lyrics, you should check out the Mars Volta. They make lyrics like these sound elementary. |

Ditto's all around. The "perfect girl" is the anomaly. She may exist or may not exist, but either way she is not physically with him therefore the anomaly presents itself. Brandon effectionately refers to this anomaly --this perfect girl-- as Anna Molly. |

Those "bells" everyone is speaking of aren't bells. If I had to guess, I'd say those were very muffled and distorted jackhammers. These jackhammers might represent the forced entry into the womb and I think that Ced and Omar are trying to put the listener inside the womb and experience what Cygnus is experiencing. Becuse when you listen to it, it really sounds like you are under the concrete and the jackhammers are above you drilling away at your shelter. And of course when the music erupts afterwards, Cygnus and the listener is born. |
