| Sleater-Kinney – Good Things Lyrics | 13 years ago |

this song has such a lesbian feel, for me. "the hardest part is things already said." like the best of Team Dresch. I just downloaded the album Call the Doctor after years of being a huge S-K fan because of this song. |

| Neko Case – Make Your Bed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| she's singing from a man's point of view. the killer murders first the dear girl's lover, and then the girl herself. | |
| Rihanna – Only Girl (In the World) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| she definitely says "like I'm a hot guy." | |

| Mirah – La Familia Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think what's most interesting is that the lyrics lack any explicit mention of lust or physical/sexual desire for another person. The song doesn't advance by describing how attractive the speaker finds another person and how that attraction translates into a longing to sleep with them. It is most certainly not about incest; rather, it is a very plaintive representation of the feelings of a girl who is a member of a loving, close-knit family of fellow spirits, although we learn that the relationships between the girls are transitory: no one is expected to stay too long. The girl's question, "if we sleep together, will it make it any better?" is borne out of the bittersweet pain of so many goodbyes. Her yearning to be with one of the others in a more intimate way (i.e., sex) stems from her need to find a way to hold on to them. This use of sex as a means of emotional bonding, rather than a purely physical activity, is quite beautiful. |

| The Be Good Tanyas – A Thousand Tiny Pieces Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this song is probably one of the most gorgeous that I know. | |
| Tilly and the Wall – Dust Me Off Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I like this one, probably my favorite off the new album. I don't feel like anything on "o" is as gorgeous as their old stuff, though, and it makes me sad. | |
| Tilly and the Wall – Too Excited Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Tilly and the gang curse too much on "o." That is all. |

| Rilo Kiley – Give a Little Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I seriously don't think Under the Blacklight is that bad for all the shit people talk about it. I wouldn't say it's as strong an album as More Adventurous, but I like "Silver Lining," "Close Call," "15," and this one a lot. They're fun, catchy songs. | |
| Tracy Chapman – For My Lover Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this song feels truer than a lot of the other songs on the album, even if they're also fantastic. It's so raw and plaintive it seems like the emotions are completely real. | |
| Nelly – Hot in Herre Lyrics | 17 years ago |

jenny owen youngs's version kicks the shit out of this. and then giggles. |

| Neko Case – That Teenage Feeling Lyrics | 17 years ago |

these lyrics are so spare that analyzing them at all seems to strip them of their meaning. it's about what it's about. :D |

| The Blow – Pile of Gold Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
ohmygod, you got my favorite part of the lyrics wrong! "want it, they want it. it's economic. they need the warmth that we export. of course, some boys will try to force the prices down by pushing girls around. i've seen some do this learned to see through this they get scared, so scared maybe we'll refuse to share with them all join some massive sapphic exodus but tell them, "i know that you're brave enough and you could learn to save enough to make some trade with me." massive sapphic exodus is hands-down my favorite phrase used in lyrics ever. |

| Dressy Bessy – If You Should Try To Kiss Her Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is too perfect. and the scene it's in in but i'm a cheerleader is freaking adorable! | |
| Katy Perry – I Kissed a Girl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
As an actual lesbian, I can only assume this song was orchestrated by the kind of men eager to prove that lesbianism is simply something to try on and play around with. It's denigrating, it's insulting, and it's wrong. in conclusion, damn the patriarchy. |

| NOFX – Kill Rock Stars Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
1) Kill Rock Stars is an independent label, and I think part of their ideology is rebelling against the packaged stars the major labels offer. Becoming famous (e.g., a rock star) on an independent label isn't ironic, it's admirable. 2) Kathleen doesn't hate men, she hates sexism. |

| Panic! at the Disco – Time to Dance Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| More thoughts. .pull.the.trigger. they definitely should have thanked him. and OKRadiohead, I was reading Palahniuk long before I picked up this band's CD. So go fuck yourself. Oops, f**k yourself. | |
| Dressy Bessy – She Likes It Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I could be completely wrong in my interpretation of this song and I'd be interested to hear other people's. But based on the tone of this song and the lyrics, I inferred that this song was about a girl who is a lesbian or might be one. The lines "Don't tell him you like it" and "'Cause he don't know if she gogo's when she goes home" seem kind of ominous! That's just what I think though. | |
| Panic! at the Disco – Time to Dance Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Firstly, if you haven't read Invisible Monsters, it really doesn't matter what you think of this song because it's purely based on that book. Secondly, there is absolutely no connection to Survivor. You're grabbing at straws. And thirdly, stop calling it a fucking reference to Invisible Monsters. They blatantly stole paragraphs from it. | |
