| Bad Religion – Kyoto Now! Lyrics | 19 years ago |

ACBlindMansArrow: Basic game theory shows that if each person(or country whatever) only does only what is benefitial for themselves and ignores the whole, everybody is worse off then if the people co-operate to help the whole. This is not to mention that the 7/1 number is a that tullshit number. The costs of global warming if we do nothing are much larger than the costs of running a sustainable economy. Bad Religion know what they're talking about and this is an amazing song about fighting against people who want to pillage the earth out of greed. |

| Bad Religion – Heaven Is Falling Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It is about the gulf war. It came out right after the war. It does apply very well to the current war though, even down to the "King George" part. | |

Holy shit, this thread is scary. Such blind and extreme nationalism is exactly what this song is making fun of. Nationalism has always caused problems in this world and is how almost all the most famous dictators came to power. "Seriously though, if it weren't for our military and the UN's military the entire world would be in shamble": I seriously hope your joking here, because I can't believe somebody could be that f*cking brainwashed. The world is in shambles and a good portion of it is due to the US military (we fucked up a lot of countries in order to fight communism, etc, and now it's comming back to haunt us). The rest of the world aren't babies who need papa U.S. to hold their hands. Another added interesting part of this, is that "don't tread on me", the only part that has anything to do with America, was the slogan used by American guerrilas fighting of British occupiers. The place this would apply most now adays is in Iraq where Iraqi guerillas are fighting off American occupiers (and each other, but that's what happens when you take out the gov't of a country with strong sectarian divisions). |

| Black Sabbath – War Pigs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
First of all the person who said Ozzy supports the war is an idiot, Ozzy doesn't and has compared Bush to Hitler. Second, basing your politics on the music you listen to is stupid so it doesn't really matter if Ozzy supports the war or not. Third, this is an amazing song about how war in general is stupid. It may have been inspired by 'nam but it is called War Pigs not Vietnam War Pigs. If you listen to the lyrics, you'll see that it applys to most of our modern pointless wars from Vietnam to Iraq. Fourth, as far as Commies go, all the people who blindly support Bush should go move to China where blind following of the government is enforced. Here in America, we live in a country that was founded by crazy liberals who were liberal enought to decide that they didn't want to blindly follow their leader and if you don't like that, go move to China. You won't have to worry about hippies or protesters or anything like that over there! |

| Rage Against the Machine – Snakecharmer Lyrics | 19 years ago |

oh, come on minorxxthreat, that's a bunch of bull, first of all, if you buy into the "if you don't like america, just leave" you are missing the entire point of RATM's politics. Most people agree that the U.S. makes things very good for the people living in the U.S. When they set up dictatorships in Central America that cause the deaths of thousands of people in order that people can buy bannanas for a few cents cheeper it didn't hurt anybody in the U.S. too much. It hurt people not in the U.S. The whole thing about "If you don't like it leave" doesn't make any sense because most of what the U.S. does wrong that people don't like about it is what they do to everybody else and leaving just makes you one of the everybody else that the U.S. likes to crap all over. |

| Rage Against the Machine – Roll Right Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Rockstar, The song obviously isn't about Bush since it's too old, but bush isn't the first right-wing nutjob to go warmongering. The U.S. has been involved in wars (and while not involved in wars, paying facist guerillas in central america, selling bombs to isreal, or selling weaponized plague and other deadly weapons to Iraq(papa Bush did that one) ) for a LONG time and it is the right of the political spectrum that is usually involved. Most people in America are not on the far right but they don't really understand what's going on so the right just rattles on about terrorists(or not too long ago commies) and the rest of America just let's them do whatever they want (leashes, the fear and the mouthpieces, etc). This is pretty much the message of most of rage against the machine's songs and not just this one. |

wtf does "standing before of us" mean? I always thought it was "standing the four of us" which makes sense but it seems every site says "standing before of us" yeah, I know, dforce is more about awesome music than lyrics but "standing before of us" just makes no sense |

| Dream Theater – 6:00 Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The lyrics were written by Kevin Moore, so the band doesn't need to know about his leaving for him to write about it. "Finally found the sound but he's in to deep" is showing that he's finally found his own sound, but he's too deeply involved with dream theater this song seems to be based on the reasons for why he's left, he wants to get on with his life and sees dream theater as holding him back or something like that |

| Bad Religion – Prove It Lyrics | 19 years ago |

the no such thing as hell part hints at the religious right who are making the world more like hell so, hell doesn't exist(because bad religion are atheists) but you can make it if you try (because if earth is turned into a living hell by religious nuts, there will then be a hell) |

| Dream Theater – Voices Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think it is about actually speaking: the voices "repeat me"(repeat what he is thinking into the outside world) And the whole thing about getting thoughts stolen or brodcasting them is that if you speak, you're letting other people know what you're thinking. And what you say reflects your "hopes and fears". The main person is paranoid(the name of the big song this is a part of is "a mind beside itself" which is a rough translation of paranoia) and so refuses to speak (which would let everybody get easy access to his thoughts) which is the reason for: '"So speak, I'm right here" She used to say to me Not a word, not a word' Thus the person supposedly singing this song becomes the silent man in "A Mind Beside Itself: iii. The Silent Man" And then there's some stuff about religion in there somewhere. Anyway, it is a good song and Dream Theater are the greatest! |
