Its sad that emo has come along and tried to be punk but failed miserably-instead of playing good songs with some politicised, rebellious lyrics they are whining about how they were dumped and how terrible it has made their life. |

Billie Joe and Mike both had bad childhoods-Billie Joe's dad died when he was 10 and his mother remarried and Mike's mum was on drugs so he was adopted but his adoptive parents divorced when he was seven. Don't ask me how I know all this stuff-I just have a good memory for things like that. |

yup, he was born in 1972, dropped out the day before his 18th birthday and 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours was released in 1990. they also released 1000 Hours EP in 1989, Slappy EP in 1990 and 39/Smooth LP in 1990-it's made up of songs from these. |

Don't get me wrong I love Green Day and this song, but how has it got over 2000 posts? It is by no means their best song and people should acknowledge their other work more-too many people seem to think that American Idiot is the only Green Day song?album worth listening to. |
