| Against Me! – The Ocean Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think, this given the news. | |
| Pg. 99 – My Application To Heaven Lyrics | 15 years ago |

the third lines sounds more like "It makes me cringe to think..." |

| Drive Like Jehu – Luau Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Failures in Outer Space, failures and crimes. Let's get something straight, s'not for mine. Before you were born and after you die. Failures in Outer Space, failures and crimes. It's in the water, it's in the earth. It's in the unit to measure the curse. it's depth, whatever it's worth. It's in the unit to measure the curse. It's in the set up, yeah it's built in. whatever the get up, yeah it's built in. Wait for the rubout, wait for the purge. Wipe the last howlie the fuck off our turf. Forget what you thought, forget what you heard Wipe the last howlie the fuck off our turf. Aloha (aloha) Suit Up! Luau (luau) Kill all the tourists, and we'll all sleep sound cash all their filling, blow it in town Yeah we'll blow it on rifles, blow it on drinks. Head for the corner, head in the sink. |

| Hopesfall – I Can Do This On An Island Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
IMO hopesfall haven't made a meaningful album since The Satellite Years. after it was released, they kicked out ryan parrish, who wrote the lyrics (and it could be theorized, a lot of the music) Jay can't carry the band on, and i'm glad they retired the name. |

| Thursday – Understanding In A Car Crash Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
i really don't understand the reference either. I'm listening to the song right now, obviously the death of his friend cut real deep, especially since it was explained they didn't even see a car wreck, as he past the site of a crash. It's about his desensitation and how that crash really hit home the next day. I guess it's about realising your own mortality. The reference probably meant either his drug addiction after, or his friends addiction that lead to the crash. It's powerful and moving reguardless of it's true meaning, although i never bought the whole drug addiction thing because I really felt he'd really gone through a loss of someone with the poetry. I have to say though, he had a really powerful band behind him, and it elevates the songs impact. sad to say (personally speaking) they haven't really surpassed this song in it's instrumental complexity. |

Ryan Parrish wrote the songs didn't he? They stopped being a christian band a long time ago. I agree with the idea that this song is about how you have the future in front of you and your held back by something that you can't let go. |

your right, i don't really think there is a way to correct them short of posting a whole new and correct version. the same was for drive like jehu - caress |

about that comment about Geoff hating music downloading, at the end of their set on the warped tour in Nassau Colessium, he told the audience that music wasn't a commodity, and to go home and download all their songs. he also hit himself with the mic and bled onstage. fucking awesome guy. |

| Between the Buried and Me – (Shevanel Take 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i'm amazed with his voice, since he's screaming and growling through most of the other songs. but one of the things i love about this band is the versetility of every one in it. |

| Drive Like Jehu – Caress Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
obviously this song is about a teen pregnancy. but i think it has more to do with a rape that lead to this pregnancy than just being a slut. Cause after the last chorus he sceams out "rape" also, between me and my brother we managed to decipher some of the last few lines, but some still ended up being obscure. I don't know how to edit above, so i'll just put it down here. Gracie we're making babies yeah, we're barefoot on the tiles We're all here, we're all invited somehow we're all involved we to see you fuck in there we don't want you to feel pressured, we don't want you to feel ill you in our hearts and especially our prayers. |
