clearly, this is a modern necrophilic classic, contemporary with "cold ethyl" and "a little piece of heaven." sounds a bit like a sequel to "wake the dead."

thank you for kicking this off. this uncle/nephew duo are the wealthy affluent descendants of legendary producer berry gordy. it is a depressing thought that the man responsible for great music, motown, produced these turds. barring the fact there is no music contained in this digital recording but rather a bunch of annoying sounds known as electronic, these have got to be the worst lyrics since lil wayne. they think they are physically attractive and they are aware of this; imo they look like disgusting homeless. i would hate to meet a person who actually cares that they work out. i'm all for physical fitness but stfu up already i would rather not look at their body or their "cheeks." they seriously have a lyric about "trying to tan my cheeks"?! they should be VERY afraid to show it. if anyone is thinking "if you think they are so talentless why aren't you making millions of dollars whoring yourself to the industry and making worthless recordings for the radio" my answer is i don't dress like a clown (have "image") or have any influential industry relatives (have nepotism). honestly, i can't image a 5 year old not being able to come up with a song title and lyrics comparable to "sexy and i know it." |

while many songs by the used can be easily interpreted to be about bert rejecting his parent's mormon religion or getting gay with gee, this song is clearly about tv's john krasinski. bert is like tv's tobias funke in that he is ridiculously straight but says (or sings) openly gay things often to the amusement of myself and other listeners. bert is a genius who loves to mess with people; the definition of a true punk rock master. |

i know i'm almost 10 years late to this party, but if you love the "ben folds live" version and you love how he plays the piano, don't bother tracking down the studio version of this song. it is mostly guitar, barely any piano, which is what makes the live version an outstanding song. "live" version awesome, "studio" version disappointing in comparison. |

musically this reminds me of a funeral. lyrically i can't think of a more personal and real song by eminem or anyone else. em is the greatest rapper of all time for many, many reasons but stands alone as a musician who can go through major life changes and make a empathetic heartfelt real song about every hardship he ever faced. he doesn't have to rely on his older work or life experiences, he can still use all of his rapping styles to be applicable to his current self despite being rich and off drugs now. when he says "casket" it sounds like he can't even say it. i believe he has mastered everything there is to do in rap and is superior to most musicians because of his ability to be aggressive, funny, strange, but most importantly real. |

i mostly agree with you, i think he secretly is showing them up on their own tracks or at least i like to pretend he is but he's respectful enough not to battle rap straight out as explained in "talkin' 2 myself." this may be part of the reason that it is not violent. there are a lot of lyrics interpreted as dissing lil wayne which may or may not be true (probably not if eminem is complimenting him and trying not to fight with people) but could easily be eminem showing him up ever so slyly. i think the VMA's reference is more of a reference than a diss towards kanye. |
