I read that this song was written when Dean and Gene were tripping on acid in NYC and Deaner wandered away and started walking the streets by himself. He saw a newsstand with a TIME or Newsweek magazine that had a child looking up on the over with the caption "Am I Gonna Die, Mommy?"
Then he went back to the hotel, showed Gener and they wrote this song. |

I'm pretty sure this song is about sex sung from the perspective of the penis. "The Mollusk" is only about nautical themes on the surface, if you read into it a little deeper, it's mostly about sex, specifically vaginas and urination (fuzzy clams and pee-pee) |
