This one seems to be about a guy who becomes instantly infatuated with someone he's seen for the first time. He knows this girl is bad news, but that just makes him more attracted to her. |

You can add 'Amanda' from !Tre! to that list as well, which is probably the most blatant 'what if' song that Billie has written. He really does seem to write a lot about this girl. Apparently 'She' Is about the same girl too. |

Quite simply, it's a song about Billie and his marriage to Adrienne. Even after all these years, he still see's the "Brown-eyed girl that's throwing down a bottle of Old English back in the warehouse". |

I think this one is about a womaniser who is seeing the errors of his ways, and is trying to win back the heart of the girl he loved. It's basically an apology, and an admission of guilt. Another great track from the trilogy. |

Billie confirmed that it's a tribute to Amy Winehouse. He said he's never met her, but he had an affinity to her through the music she made. He felt that she was the last one left who had some kind of connection to the days of 60's soul music, and that he felt really sad the connection is gone now, and that there's no one left who makes music like that anymore. A really beautiful, sincere song. A lovely tribute. |

Such a great song. The lyrics really seem to reflect what Billie is going through lately though. Everything here points to the eventual break down he had on stage at that festival appearance. It's some of the darkest, deepest lyrics he's ever written, dressed up with quite a catchy melody, complete with hand-claps. Some of Billie's best work has come from a really deep place in his heart, and this is definitely one of those. Again, a great song, but a little alarming when you read the lyrics while thinking of what happened a few months back. |

This one seems quite personal if you take in to account Billie Joe's recent on stage break down. It's like he's admitting that as he's getting older, he's going back to to the vices that plagued him as a younger man, which could have lead to what happened that night, and his subsequent admission to rehab. Maybe getting older is freaking him out and hitting the bottle is the only way he can cope. |

| Green Day – Nuclear Family Lyrics

To me, it seems like this is about a guy going through a mid-life crisis. He wants to leave his mundane existence behind and go in search of something more exciting. He wants to be wreckless, and live for the moment. The 'Nuclear Family' reference could be something to do with our protaganist leaving his family behind in order to re-discover his youth. I could be way off, but listening to all three albums as a collective, it seems like a recurring theme. |
