well i think it has something to do with someone who was in the navy and he can never really forget what happened "Time… rolling along with the waves, A thousand miles away Holding you close in the rain, Seems just like yesterday" could mean when he is holding his wife/girlfriend in the rain he is remembering all the bad things that happened while he was in the navy so he holds her tighter out of worry. i dunno if that really makes sense but thats what i get from it. |
