This song, like all the others on the EP, is about the relationship between the singer (Greg) and his then girlfriend. Even when she ended up moving out to the west coast, Greg tried to keep the relationship going for as long as he could. It eventually ended and some songs came out of it. |

This song is about a conflict between HTL and The Academy Is... . The Academy wanted certain members of HTL to join the band and HTL felt a different member was more suited for the position. Academy felt their (HTL's) choice of member didn't fit their image; they also told HTL they wouldn't get very far in the music world (which couldn't be more off). And actually, one of the lines in this song, I believe "if your backbone should find it's way home", is in reference to one of the Academy's song from their first EP. |

It's also about not caring what critics think and how they'll always make the music they love. The original title was "You Are The Dishes And The Dishes Are Done (The Call Out)", but was later changed as requested by their label. |

This song is about the night it was decided that Ryan (the old drummer) should no longer be in the band. A fight between Ryan and Nick was the final straw. The title is in reference to the highway in their hometown (Lima, OH), where the fight actually occurred. |
