My Chemical Romance – The Ghost of You Lyrics 19 years ago
I watched the music video and from what i've learned from that the song is about a guy who goes to war.

"i never say I'd lie and wait forever, if I did we'd be together"

means that he wishes he could have spent more time with the girl he loves. But he couldn't and he told her he didn't have much time with her. It also means if he did have time and there was no war they' d be together. But then he knows he won't ever be coming home from the war. The rest of the song is him feeling bad about never ever being able to see her again because he's going to die.

Keith Urban – You're My Better Half Lyrics 19 years ago
One, I think the whole "crossdresser" thing is rediculous. Its quite obvious he's talking about the woman he loves. I think its an insult to Keith Urban, one of the most inspiring country singers to be called a crossdresser! I mean, I have nothing against crossdressers but seriously think for a second, he's getting married, of course he's not a crossdresser!

This song is about Keith coming home from work and being tired, and he feels happy that his wife/girl-friend is there to comfort him. He's basically saying he loves her so much she's like his better half. THAT is the meaning of the song and I found it very obvious.

Counting Crows – Rain King Lyrics 19 years ago
emilieheidel, I think you have done your research, and yes, it could be possible that your theory is true. But answer me this: Why would the band write about a mythology? Wouldn't it make more sense if they had written the song about a book? Counting Crows have never said that they write songs about mythology, and if this was a first they would definetly have said something about it.
