I've been hooked on this song all day. The video creeps me out a bit but her voice sends shivers down my spine! I do think A.M is correct. If you listen to her the drastic change in her voice in the song it seems to indicate a sort of bi-polar personality. How shes sweet and innocent but when shes angry her 'wrath' comes through into her voice. And its interesting how mrcrowley said that blue is the demonic colour, her voice sounds demonic to me when she gets sinister. Could be the internall conflict of someone over their feelings for someone. |

This song to me has a dreamy quality to it. It makes me think of hallucinations and being transported to your own personal world. Reality gets too hard sometimes, so you retreat into your imagination and block everything out. That being said, a little aid from drugs isn't to be ruled out. I listened to this song with headphones as someone reccomended [I love my huge headphones^_^] and wow. You really can hear and appreciate more of the hazy effects of the guitar and synth. It's beautiful..and in a way provides that drug like feeling of flying over a blue calm ocean. In the verses the music is gentle and comforting but when the chorus comes it seems more louder and guitars crashing to break that tranquillity as if in defiance: without a care in this whole world. Wanting to stay there? It's my world. random jottings but thats what I take from the song. |

Love this song and admire the artist. I'm not sure how to explain my take on the song. I guess, in a way it reminds me of a past experience I had with someone. relationship gone bad. She may appear to be fragile somtimes and in fact can have her fragile moments but she will continue going on because shes of tough substance. She has a strong mind and is pretty much enabled to survive. haha i make her sound like a robot now. seriously though, i think shes just writing how after a false relationship she may feel fragile shes strong enough to recover and move on. I think in this song Ian anderson is talking about performing live or touring. It soon becomes a routine. Different countries but they soon start to look the same. I take from this song that when hes on stage he puts on a kind of mask, that perhaps an alter ego comes out which would make sense of- But I had a most funny feeling --- It wasnt me they were shouting for. Im not so sure of the chorus. But it's my favourite part of the song. He doesn't feel he fits inside this routine world where everything is organised and categorised. So he'll wait behind a rainbow til the show is done. or maybe this song just embodies his loathing of the world. ^_^ |

I first listened to this song when i was going through some of my most difficult years. It doesn't matter which country, which house or place I am in it always comforts me. Its just relevant. Its what music should be. It awakens something in me, it sends tingles all over my skin. I really do believe this is a tribrute to john lennon. Its the way the words say 'she couldn't find how to push through' Yoko ono couldnt reach john lennon before he died because of the crowd so im told by my relatives last christmas. I know im wrong but when i first hear and read the lines Tortured and Dumped in nameless graves centuries weighed, authority died it reminded me of the holocaust. And i know its mostly this song refers to christainity and its power. It could refer to world war II and how a race has been persecuted. Thats just how this song sounded like to me. |

O_o No comments on such an awesome song!?! I think this song is sort of angry as someone ascends into a kind furious madness. Its like theyve sort of accepted something and are now embracing. Or they feel they have nothing left. They don't care what else is thrown at them- ie: "I hope (that) into this morning sun will explode on me" Thats gonna hurt. I found this band and song through watching their music vid on a myspace profile, and in the vid a girl in a white dress, the virginal innocent beauty youd usually get in gothic love stories, (obviously his love) is lying in the snow dead. He finds her and basically i think the song is about the agony of losing a loved 1 and losing your mind with it. I could be wrong. BUt thats what the song means to me. Its an awesome song anywhoo and a great band. Im surpised no one has actually commented on it. I'd love to hear other opinions on it. x x |
