this is really an amazing song they way i see it, it's about a relationship that he messed up due to a lack of trust that he now regrets. "and to reflect is to regret" shows that he regrets his actions. every time he reflects upon it he regrets it. "Separated by this divide I created through my fears. And in your tears you tried to show blind eyes and tell deaf ears" to me this shows that whatever happened was caused by the fears that he had. Whether it was a lack of trust or his belief that he wasn't good enough for her, it caused a rift between them. the rest of the song just speaks of what it would be like if they can get through whatever problem is going on. how happy and nice it would be. |
