Definitely agree with rubylovag's comments. Seems to be Baby Britain is just a friend that Smith took out to the bar after she was involved in a break up. The "for someone half as smart..." line refers to the guy that dumped her being an idiot and Smith wanting to help her, but she has to put herself together and get over it before he can. She's fighting the break up (a problem) with tons of alcohol (a bigger problem), and the talk about the ocean is just the shots she keeps emptying (and she keeps track of the ones that don't make her feel any different/drunker/better/worse). And yes, she's so drunk that she's breaking bottles and yelling about London Bridge falling down. I don't feel like analyzing the rest of it, so I'll just stop typing now. |

| Josh Ritter – Kathleen Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Just wanted to throw in my two cents about the song. I think Kathleen and the singer are friends. He likes her, she only sees him as a friend. The guy she (thinks she) likes left the party without her though and she accepts a ride home from her friend. He wasn't the last dance (that was the other guy), but he will be the last goodnite since he's the one who gave her the ride home. During the drive he either tells her how he feels or she finally realizes it. In the last lines I don't think they had sex, but I think she's maybe thinking of him as more than just a friend. Of course she's still interested in the other guy so it's a secret thought that might not even ever materialize into anything (and she only crawled up to her room because she was getting home really late....maybe the other guy she liked left the party earlier to avoid getting home late?) Overall, it's still more wishful thinking on the singer's part. There's a chance, but they're not telling anyone so it's still a long shot. |

| Bright Eyes – Tourist Trap Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song reminds me of my first summer home after being away at college. I got back together with some of my old high school friends and realized just how much things change in a year. Some were gone, some were different, I had changed, and there were some new people hanging around. | |
