| Sufjan Stevens – The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
My favorite interpretation of this song is of the boy and his brother. This is what I think: His brother is bit by the wasp, and runs away washing is face in his hands (trying not to cry or make it look as if he's not crying). So he teased his brother too much, but meant no harm. He puts his hand on his wound and "kisses him" as to say that he's sorry. Now the wasp is on his own arm so it could sting him at any time, meaning that his brother could get him back eventually. I think the "we were in love" fits well for him and his brother when they were little. I know if my brother and I ended up not talking to each other, I would think of him the same way "we were in love", i didn't want anything to change. I also like whoever said that the Palisades is now the wall between their friendship. So the narrator has to wait for that wall to be removed by his brother, he can't force it. "Into the car, from the backseat Oh, admiration in falling asleep" That could just be the narrator remembering certain family vacations, wanting to fall asleep, of course, to make the ride go by faster. "I can tell you the day we were born My friend is gone, he ran away I can tell you, I love him each day Though we have sparred, wrestled and raged I can tell you, I love him each day" that's my favorite part. It's saying how the brother's know so much about each other, like the day they were born. Even though they fought about stupid things, and wrestled, the narrator still loves his brother. That's how i like to think of the song, whether it's right or not. |

| Pedro the Lion – Rejoice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is probably my favorite ending to a cd ever. I love the sirens in the background (at least i think thats what they are). cause everything came to an end, the husband died. the "rejoice" is genius because life sucks sometime, but the meaningful things (god) are worth living for. | |
