I feel the piano note at the beginning sounds like a submarine sonar, but when I listen to the rest I always think of some underwater landscape, very colorful, with a sort of coral reef, at day time though, and some bits are like as if I was diving into water from very high up, breaking the surface of the water just when the music has a drastic change (like that guitar around 17:00). The beginning, isntead of a submarine, I see a sort of sea monster, I don't know why, but a paeceful one. As for the meaning, I think it means that nuderwater, Time hans't made anything change, it is still all the same (or almost) as it has been for millions of years. I know that's rather personnal. 23 minutes 31 seconds of beatifulness ! I would call it a musicscape |

The best line by far is : "All I can do is kiss you, through the bars of a rhyme" a nearly cry when I hear that it symbolises so well the song : juliet is behind bars, because her family doesn't want her to meet romeo, so romeo comes to see her and ther's a metaphor between the "bars" of her prison (which is already a metaphor) and the bars of a ryhme, which is another word for the verses |

oh I like this song. I don't find it that weird (i'm perfectly normal by the way). for me it's clearly about a young boy of around 12 who's trying to get a girl to "get intersested" in him, by showing her all his "prized" possessions, quite funny, and rather touching, about childhood and your relationship with girls at that age. ok i have to say the last 2 lines and the second part is strange. oh and tool do shut up |

It's not really a direct allegory from the Bible or LOTR, because the theme of Good vs Evil is part of the world in which we live, Tolkien probably took some inspiration from the Bible because the Bible is so important for the battle of good vs evil. Stairway To Heaven however has absolutely nothing to do with LOTR. |

This song actualy doesn't have anything to do with heroine, it's about the protagonist of The Wall who suddenly falls very ill mentally and physicaly and can't even get up from his chair to go on stage to perform, so his managers call some sort of doctor (who I think is speaking in the first and third verses) who "pricks" Pink's arm with an injection so he can feel better. Of course that injection must have had some nasty stuff in because Pink then suffers from side effets and his show recalls that of a facsist dictator. The "comfortably numb" feeling is just his fever where he can't move and doesn't want to. Oh and that solo by David Gilmour is soooooooooo amazing. |

I agree, Green Day aren't really punk at all. listen to the Sex Pistols or the Clash if you want to get an idea. Oh and I'm sorry to say I can't bear American Idiot, I used to like it alot when I was younger and didn't have very much taste in music, but now I compare these 3 string, simple chord progressions with fabulous lengthy Jimmy Page or David Gilmour guitar solos and I just think : what is modern day music becoming ? |

One of the truly best songs of pink floyd (if not of all time) First of all lyrics are really well written and very witty. Then the main riff is lovely, personnaly I really like the saxophone solo, gives song a really cool jazzy touch, the guitar solo that follows is great too. I think it does fit well in the album, because this album is alot about society turning people completely bonkers, the albums main theme is all about madness but a slightly more cartoonyhappy way than the disturbing The Wall. Dark Side of the Moon talks about War (Us And Them) and money and their mad sides, the mad and bad sides of human nature (greed and violecs). God I wish I had grwn up with all this great music like Led Zep, Pink Floyd and all that coz I'm 15 and "my" generation's music is SHIT (apart from, let's say, franz ferdinand and radiohead) |
