to me, like so many people have said before me, this song is about chavs or 'neds' as they are called round my way. it's mainly about how chavs don't go for the whole romance thing, they're all about sex, etc. the song also puts across the sometimes aggressive nature of chavs (pool cues in their hands). the last verse, well, it could've been me singin that. i used to hang about with a bunch of 'neds', but they're not like full on chavs, just in terms of fashion and shit like that. they're not aggressive or anything (not really anyway). but since i've stopped hanging about with them so much, my other friends totally trash them all the time, cos my new friends are more indie, but i still stick up for them cos they were still my mates, and 'i just cannot get angry in the same way' but btw, wearing classic reebok does NOT make you a chav, because i have a pair, and i am NOT a chav. really good song though, and to everyone who's slated the lyrics, i think the lyrics are really good. straightforward, good writing. much better than a lot of other writing you get nowadays. i like how the AMs' lyrics always tell a story, rather than these pop songs that are just nonsense. don't dis chavs though, they are people too |
