I relate so much to this song because it feels like i'm going trough the same thing. There's this guy, who i thought i fell in love with, and he told me he did too, but then eventually it turned out he didn't. So he kept turning me down but that made me want him even more. He kept talking to me but I was confused so I was being rude to him 'cause he hurt me. So he left me alone for a couple of days and I was trying to get over him and doing stuff like going out and meeting new people. But then a few days later he started calling me again and we talked and talked and started flirting again, but he wasn't in town so we couldn't see eachother in person. But he kept calling and after a few days he kind of declared his love to me. Not as in 'I love you', but he told me he had feelings for me. I was surprised and happy and confused at the same time, 'cause he said he had feelings for me once before, but then afterwards he turned me down anyway. So I thought he'd do it again. But he didn't. He seems to really miss me now, and he has this crazy fantasies about me, and i'm starting to think: no no, this is not what I need, I don't want him.. But the point is that he's got it all figured out, I am to become his girlfriend, no matter what. But now I don't want him anymore! I know I'm kind of messed up, I don't understand why I feel this way, but he does these things that make me think: eww, gross. But he doesn't notice and thinks those things are normal. And maybe they are but to me they're a big no-no. He wants to see me and I know he's gonna kiss me and I don't want to, but I've kind of promised myself to him. I am a coward for not telling him how I feel but I just don't have the guts to do it, I don't want hurt him.. Okay what a silly story, but at least the song's amazing. |

love this song, matthew sings in a special way that makes me believe he's talking to me in person.. anyway, i saw muse at the rock werchter festival in belgium, it was the best fucking show of the whole festival, and that means A LOT! this song is even better live |

actually i love both the original and the cover. ben changed the lyrics on purpose, it's his own view on the song and yeah, maybe the lyrics sound a bit ridiculous but it's his own choice, isn't it? by the way, if they just covered the song and left the lyrics just the same, it'd be quite stupid. cause then you could say the morrisey version is better, without even listening to the cover. |
