Fountains of Wayne – Sink To The Bottom Lyrics

i really love this song. just makes you think about those times when you feel like life is nothingness and you just want to sink to the bottom of the ocean. i love how the solo at the end is pretty much same as on All Kinds of Time only faster. cool how that worked out. |

Apologize. I didn't realize they wrote a First Day of Summer AS WELL AS a First Day of Winter....I have actually never heard this song. Will add First Day of Winter to this site... |

i know i love all the TCD songs a lot, but this one might be my favorite, man. i have never listened to a song that fast. i wonder if that's the speed at which they actually recorded it. still, i don't question them, they're a legendary band. great song |

Mike Dirnt could be the LEAD SINGER for every other band out there. He's that good. Really. Unfortunately, not a lot of people realize that. But when you got Billie Joe, well.....that's why they're the best band in history, baby. |

Blink-182 – Degenerate Lyrics

This is really an example of what I love about Blink. They can write a completely screw ass song and still make it a kickass song with a great beat. That's also what they did with Depends off Chesh Cat. |

The Network – Roshambo Lyrics

Love this song. They're still so Green Day, even when they try to "disguise" themselves. They mess with all the dynamics, etc, but GD still shows through it.
Why did they do this? I mean, what was their motivation? Was it just something to do while writing American Idiot? Anyway, who knows. We could talk about that for hours.
To the song itself: For some reason, I get the feeling it's about some kind of robot man who is perceived as evil but deep down inside knows how to love someone undyingly. I guess that's just how all the fucked up ambiances etc. make me feel about it.
They're great, and they will always be GD. Billie Joe= deus. |

Blink-182 – Wendy Clear Lyrics

I wish it didn't have to be so bad...
Cuz I'd play with fire to break the ice
And I'd play with a nuclear device
Is it something I'll regret?
Why do I want what I can't get?
I wish it didn't have to be so bad..
One of my favorite parts in all of music, let alone among the brilliant works of Blink.
Great song, probably the best song off Enema, up there with Adam's Song and All the Small Things. Rock out, bola |

Does the title have anything to do with it's Latin translation, "With an ally?"
Just a thought. Good song anyway |

Just to clarify to everyone out there who seems to be......confused:
Holiday
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Wake Me Up When September Ends
are NOT part of the AI storyline involving Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy, and Whatsername |

Green Day – Too Much Too Soon Lyrics

For some reason, I think it would have gone btwn Extraordinary Girl and Letterbomb. This song seems like an outright denunciation of Whatsername--and Letterbomb is when Jimmy/Jesus decides to leave her. I feel like this is the realization that it might be time to leave, and Letterbomb is the actual LEAVING.
Anyhow, Green Day fans could debate endlessly about this. I can certainly see a wide variety of placements that different people have argued for. This is one of their BEST songs--quite honestly, I would put it in my top 5, with Good Riddance, Whatsername, Welcome to Paradise, and Redundant. I wish it were freely available on ITunes, so that I could download it easily! |

Green Day – Android Lyrics

Soldiername, I can't tell you what that is; just the opposite, I myself was wondering. It's like a toilet flushing and a voice saying "Somebody else can do it ha ha ha ha". The same sort of thing is in the middle of Private Ale. I don't know what it means.
As for the song itself, the "golden rule" line may be one of the most poetic inventions in modern songwriting history. These guys are amazing. |

I think it's ridiculous that this song is criticized for "starting off slowly", because slow is the last word I would use to describe this song. |

This is a very good song because they way it's written it sounds like it's about happiness. Then when you discover the real meaning along with it comes the irony of it all. BJ's a smart guy. |

Green Day – 1,000 Hours Lyrics

Inpraise is right. When you think about how "shallow" the song is, it really doesn't seem like Green Day wrote it. How things change...
I think someone else also said how, though this is one of their worst songs how they would rather listen to this than a song by a boy band. How true. Shows you how good Green Day really is. |

Green Day – Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? Lyrics

Catcher in the Rye is probably the best book I've ever read at really capturing human emotions in a way that is accurate and believable. Great book...
This song is a brief but effective reflection on the character Holden. I really like it especially that short bass solo. |
