On the surface it's a parody of 1950s SciFi sung by someone who's secretly complicit with the aliens. At the end of the song it sounds as if they've abducted him. In hindsight however it sounds like a very clever coming out song which makes "gay panic" ludicrously melodramatic. |

Definitely the best breakdown I've read so far. I one thing I'll add is the Cold War as played out in Vietnam. The White Knight talking backwards would be American hypocrisy as playing the "good guys" in essentially a game of neocolonial domination. The Red Queen would be the USSR who are no better. The men on the chessboard would thus be mainstream social conformity, but also the military who had an active draft. |
