Ahem, this song rocks...I dunno about the album being good though. I listened to Jihad and personally I didn't really like it ... God Hates Us All was alright I guess, I only liked about half the songs though. Not that huge on Slayer but damn they have got some great songs. I think Slayer actually need to calm down with the anti-Christian lyrics. I mean, I'm not Christian, I'm Muslim (seriously don't tell me I'm a terrorist because of that...I hate stereotypical people like that), but they seem kinda obsessed with the whole anti-Christian thing. To me, it seems like they're just writing a lot of songs like this one to spark controversy, but then again it's also possible that the band is just trying to get people to not just blindly follow a religion. Some songs like Jesus Saves could be interpreted like stop sinning then just praying and thinking it's all okay and everything, but this one, it's got some stuff that is just pure anti-Christian and I think it's a bit strange how Araya would sing that when he himself is Christian (I believe he is, right?). Parts like: "There was no fucking Jesus Christ" "I'd nail him to the crucifix" And things like that. It doesn't seem to me like he's trying to get people to think about following religion blindly there. It just looks like he wants to be controversial and wants to look like a big anti-Christian rebel. Well, that's just my opinion. I still like the song though lol. Tell me what ya think. |

Okay, well, this is just what I think about the song. There's some awesome guy who died who was close to someone in the band. So the song is from the viewpoint of the guy who was close to him, and he’s asking an/the angel of death (Miss Murder) if he killed himself would “beauty stay”...I’m not exactly sure what he means by making beauty stay though. Maybe just having people remember him for the good/beautiful things he did. Explanation is as follows: Hey Miss Murder can I Hey Miss Murder can I Make beauty stay if I Take my life? Asking the angel of death if he can “make beauty stay” if he kills himself. With just a look they shook, And heavens bowed before him. Simply a look can break your heart. Everyone else ("they") is so impressed with this awesome guy, even the heavens, so like, God? A look could break your heart because it gives you a memory of this guy who's dead now. The stars that pierce the sky He left them all behind We're left to wonder why He left us all behind The awesome guy’s dead. Hey Miss Murder can I Hey Miss Murder can I Make beauty stay if I Take my life? Dreams of his crash won't pass Oh, how they all adored him Beauty will last when spiraled down The guy died in a car crash, and they still see him in their dreams because they “adored him” so much. I think he means killing himself when he says “spiral down”, so it looks like he wants to “make beauty stay” even if it means suicide. What's the hook, the twist, within this verbose mystery? I would gladly bet my life upon it That the ghost you love, your ray of light will fizzle out Without hope Life is a verbose mystery, i.e. it’s really complicated, and he doesn’t understand why this guy had to die. He’d gladly bet his life upon the fact that “your ray of light will fizzle out” (your happiness will end eventually) because it happened to him, and now he has no hope or desire to keep living. We're the empty set, just flowing through, wrapped in skin Ever searching for what we were promised Reaching for that golden ring we'd never let go But who would ever let us put their filthy hands upon it? Everyone else is just empty bodies (wrapped in skin) because this guy that died was their heart and soul...? They’d “never let go” of him, but he was so much higher than them that they couldn’t put their filthy hands on him to grab hold of him. | The part right after the intro is so angry...love it. Not a huge fan of Behemoth, I think a lot of their stuff sounds the same, but this song, I've gotta say, it kicks ass. | |

| Damn, this song is SO AGGRESSIVE! I'm a drummer and I wish I could blast beat as fast as that guy...holy crap. Yeah, B12, I'm also wondering about the "ov" instead of "of"... but a lot of Behemoth's songs are about like mythological stuff, this one has a bit of that sprinkled in IMO. | |
