when i saw thursday live in allentown geoff said something along the lines of "every one of you here tonight is a feminist for seeing this band because we are the biggest band of feminist pussies around." (i'm not making that up either) then he immediately said that sugar in the sacrament was about the disrespect and unselfish use of women. As for the religious tone, I can see how you gather that from the lyrics. But mind you, this song is specifically about women. So you can chalk the catholic priest scandal off the list of possibilities as that mainly entailed the abuse of young boys. |
