I think we all can relate to this song in some sort of way. For me this reminds me of an ex. It was a relationship that I gave more then he did, but I didnt realize that until the end. Everything seemed to be going great, the way they should be & I loved being with him. He broke my heart and I've moved on and moved away from where he is. | This song is my life song. Its been with me for so long. Back when I was in HS, we had a Senior Talent Show. I decided I wanted to sing this song, with my older brother at my side who played an acoustic guitar. It was a way for me to tell everyone at the school how I really felt. Ive cried so many times to the lines, they just get me badly. Ive had alot of issues to deal with since I can remember and it just speaks to me. I really recommend buying the String Tributes & Piano Tributes to NIN. If you do listen to "Hurt" all piano.....its so erie, so undiscribable. I know this may sound weird to some people but when I die someday I want the Piano version to play at my funeral. Ive been a cutter for the past 6 years & Ive finally got a hold of it and controling it, it was like an addiction. My step father who passed about 3 years ago was my hero...and this place where I live and work, I work so hard for everything and it just seems like people just take me for granted. When things start going great for me they always end up falling part. When things get bad, they get bad. This song is so amazing, I listen to it when Im down and it just lets me think about things, get some raw emotion out. Then when Im at my lowest, I pull myself together and take a second look at things and try to fix them. I'm moving to the Philly area in a month or so and its going to hard at first, but I know I can do it. Ive been through so much and I embrace whatever comes my way. He had a heart attack in the doctors office during a check-up for "acid reflux." They miss diagnosed him....he passed away. I've cried to this song a few times late at night when everything is on my mind. "A year goes by And I can't talk about it The times weren't right And I couldn't talk about it" Wow, this is so true. About a year ago I broke up with a person whom I dated for almost 2 years. I broke my own heart ~ we had both changed over the our last year and things just werent the way they used to be. So I thought we needed to go our own ways.Since then I found a great person whom I love so much now and is my perfect match, but there are nights when I'm alone and think of one of the greatest love of my life, with whom I broke my own heart with....
