My opinion of this song; I think this song is about Davye loving someone.. "I... I came here by day, but I left here in darkness And found you, found you on the way." I think he means that he was happy once then he was "left in darkness" which could mean he was sad, hopeless, miserable etc. Then he found someone that he loved, that's the part where it goes "And found you, found you on the way.." So it's like, while he was trapped in misery he found a girl or a guy that he loved and care for. "And now, it is silver and silent, it is silver and cold. You, in somber resplendence, I hold.." I don't know what the 'silver and silent' and silver and cold' part means, so lets just skip that lol. Now, onto the "You, in somber resplendence, I hold.." Well, the word "somber" means gloomy, and dark. But, "resplendence" means dazzling appearance, or brilliant. So Davey might be saying she/he looks beautiful when they're sad even though he wouldn't like them to be sad. CHORUS: I think the chorus means that the person is beautiful to Davey [obiviously] and that Davey loves him/her and he's willing to take all their sins away [like jesus] the word "rapturous" means filled with joy. So if a voice filled with joy speaks he'll "tremble in prayer and beg for forgiveness" which.. means that he'll quiver and pray and beg to be forgiven.. =S. "Light, like the flutter of wings, feel your hollow voice rushing into me As you're longing to sing So I... I will paint you in silver, I will wrap you in cold I will lift up your voice as I sink" I think the light part means happiness. "Light, like a flutter of wings" that part could mean happiness can go quickly. "Feel your hollow voice rushing, into me" that part could mean that her/his voice is empty and sorrowful when he or she is talking to Davey. "As your longing to sing So I will paint you in silver, I will wrap you in cold I will lift up your voice as I sink.." That part could mean that Davey wants to fill her voice with joy again. "Cold in life's throws, I'll fall asleep for you Cold in life's throws, I only ask you turn away Cold in life's throws, I'll fall asleep for you Cold in life's throws, I only ask you turn As they seep... into me, oh, my beautiful one, now" That part means that since the relationship is over he feels lonely or something, so that would be the "cold in life's throws" part. "I'll fall asleep for you" that part means that Davey loves the person so much that he'll die for them. "I only ask you turn away" that part means that even Davey would die for them he doesn't want the person to see him die infront of her/him. That's my theory.. it just took me and hour to figure it out, I could be wrong T_T. Davey is an amazing poet. But damn Davey with his girly good looks and his ability to access such powerful and confusing vocalbulary! xO .. I am done. |
