| U2 – One Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Did I disappoint you? Or leave a bad taste in your mouth? Did I ask too much? Have you come here for forgiveness Well it's too late to drag the past out You ask me to enter But then you make me crawl And I can't be holding on To what you got When all you got is hurt Beautiful lyrics... they say it all really :( |

| U2 – With or Without You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Hmmm you give it all but i want more... After serving you my soul, what have I left to give? Had a feeling of late that something's up. You know how to get in touch if you need to. We may not be together, but I'll always be there for you. Whether it's a set of eyes to read your messages or ears to listen... Can't live with OR without you. |

| Weston – My Favourite Mistake Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Sometimes people don't say how they feel cause it hurts too much. Spilling their guts won't do any good or change anything. A form of self preservation kicks in and you can go into a sort of mental shutdown. Read between the lines. Some people say they care and really don't, others DO and dont' know how to get the message through. Love can be shown in so many different ways and it can vary from perosn to person. In my opinion, if you truly love someone, then set them free. As long as they're happy I'm happy. Not always the easy thing to do though... :o( |

| Charlotte Church – All Love Can Be Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love the lyrics in this song, so simple yet beautifully sung. It makes me think of a guardian angel watching over you, especially the lines *I will guard you with my bright wings* I like to think that everyone has someone, who's come back to help guide them, offering a light through dark times, helping you to deal with all the sh*t that life can throw at you. You have to listen really carfully though, cause angels don't talk... they whisper. X Oo.oO X |

| Natalie Imbruglia – Torn Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
it's amazing how love can give you rose tinted glasses and you see what you want to see. The first comment mentions rape, but then there is rape in a physical sense and rape in an emotional sense. *I am shamed lying naked on the floor* it is possible to bare your soul to someone, not just your flesh.. to let someone inside your mind, then to feel as if someone has removed the screens and exposed you to the world for their own enetertainment... laughing at someone that would be naive enough to only see the best in someone.pointing out the glairing inconsistances that were ignored... to be hurt in this way i think is a lot harder to deal with... Physical scars can heal... but mental ones? *There's just so many things, That I can't touch I'm torn. I'm all out of faith, This is how I feel* I WANT TO BE IN A DREAM LIKE STATE WHERE I CAN SEE THE PERFECT SKY, UNTORN X |

| Backstreet Boys – Incomplete Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think when you are in love with someone you give them a pert of yourslef that can never be returned. When the relationship is over and you try and cut all ties, make it easier to try and heal the gaping wound that's now in your soul. Maybe it's different ina relationship that you know is going to end, there's a preparation process, a chance to be proactive with your emotions. Kinda crap when you feel like you've just been blown out of the water though. |

| Technohead – I Wanna Be A Hippie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A fun song that reminds me of my little brother, Mom and Dad, and all for very differnt reasons. My little brother used to blast this from his stereo and jump and rave about the house to it.. my mom becase she does get stoned... (very severe back problem and her GP suggested she take it). And most recently my dad in a weird sense of irony I'm the only one who's never smoked pot or touched an elict substance in my life, but he thinks I'm on drugs? Mmmmm how well he knows me... :-( | |
| Alanis Morissette – Hand In My Pocket Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I heard this for the first time in ages the other day and I couldn't help thinking that the guitar and harmonica background sound very much like the guitar and harmonica cords in a song called evil scotsman by billy connelly. Hmmm anyone else think so? I have to say I love the bit where she sings: everythings gonna be fine, fine, fine. A bit like life really...... Things always work out just fine, fine, fine in the end. |

| James – Tomorrow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| You can't choose who you love or fall in love with. You can't catch it, love catches you - very often - off guard when you least expect it.... | |
| Wookiefoot – Falling Down Trying Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I end up with a smile everytime I listen to this. It seems like a good Irish drinking song, more relevant now that St. Patricks day is almost upon us. Makes me think about haning many drinks in an Irish theme bar? lol I have to appreciate the message that the band are trying to put accross. Will you sell out and put money and possesion and the "perfect life - that the media tells you you want" above what you feel is right and walk the road less travelled? Even if you do have to travel upstream... Most people take the easy option... Oh, by-the-by the band have a myspace and as I type this they have this on their playlist. I highly recommend a listen in. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=35028134 | |
| Green Day – Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I have to agree with Partezan. Some things should be appreciatied for what they were without dwelling on the past too much. I guess it's time to let go. X | |
| Scorpions – Send Me An Angel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I have to point out that Japan is known as the land of the rising sun and Russia is known as the land of the morning star it is possible that the song was written while the Scorpions were touring or visiting there? This has also been covered by an artist called sleepthief was scanning through myspace and came across this site. It was a great song to start with and the cover version is just as good in my eyes. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=20939426 Well worth a listen. |

| Youth Group – Why Don't The Buildings Cry? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think the person has just lost someone that has spent some time in hospital - hence the line "eaten their LAST hospital meal". I agree with the other comments though that it seems to be about the injustice of someone that must've lead a pretty healthy life having died a horrible slow death wasting away. While those that choose to live unhealthily can still walk around, in an almost mocking fashion. | |
| The Jam – The Butterfly Collector Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| To me this song is about someone who sleeps around and wants not only notches on their bedposts... but also wants the souls and minds of the people that they're sleeping with. They don't care who they are because they're just faces on a pillow. The butterfly collector has no talents, other than between the sheets, but this is starting to wear off... someone that uses the men or stars she's with to get what and where she wants in life... a social climber. | |
| Sarah McLachlan – Angel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Beautifully haunting voice filled with so much emotion, I know what the general meaningis but to me, it's the line (spend all our time waiting for that second chance) there are so many times in life where we feel we've gone wrong and if given the opportinity to do things again, we'd do things differently. If we'd done things differently though, we wouldn't be who we are today wouldn't ahve the insights and wouldn't have the knowledge to stop aourselves making the same mistake in the future. Very confusing paradox, but I like the idea of being back (in the arms of an angel) after being given a second chance to improve or repent. | |
| Britney Spears – Everytime Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love listening to this song, her voice is magical in it and filled with so much emotion, I haven't read through the rest of the comments, but I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it could be about her having an abortion? There is a tremendous sense of loss for the one she loves, maybe she didn't cheat, she just couldn't face the media with her news at the time and chose what she later saw as the weak option of covering up? That's why he walked away? she managed to loose both of them? | |
| Baz Luhrmann – Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song, I originally heard it in my Uni years as a student (never graduated by the by) There something about the line (don't read beauty magazines - they will only make you feel ugly) really woke me up to the power and influence that the media can have on our personal image esteeme. There are so many lines to this that make me feel nostalgic, always a good song to listen to when your feeling down and need to rest your mood levels.. remind yourself of the basics in life. | |
| Monty Python – Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Fantastic daft song, reminds me of my Dad who's a big monty python fan... never fails to cheer me up when I listen to it, just plain silliness... but sometimes we need that in our lives, and if we can't do it, sometimes to be reminded how to is no great bad.... | |
| Don McLean – Crossroads Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Almost like a contradiction... (nothing to remember nothing to forget) but yet he's still (all tied up o the inside). Sometimes to the outside world they don't notice the full velocity of feelings that are travelling in the undercurrent of our minds.. (what i used to be I'm not anymore), someone who has changed, will they still be loved and will someone still accept them for who they are? It sounds as if the writer feels he has taken a turn for the worse, whether physically or mentally and it through a lot of soul searching he comes to realise that it's all part of lifes course and is something to be worked through, all easier to look back on with hindsight though. It is not clear whether his companion is another person or whether on a more spiritual note that is a God of sorts. | |
| Garth Brooks – Learning To Live Again Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It sounds like someone that's been set up on a blind date after loosing someone close that they cared very deeply about about. There's another couple that have arranged it and at the end it almost seems if he rocognises the same feelings he has in his date.. There's a sad irony in the lyrics "learning to live again is killing me" sometimes we have to go through dark spells so we can learn again to appreciate the light. |

| Garth Brooks – Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I've never heard the song but the lyrics are wonderfully poetic. Wouldn't it be fantastic if his dream could come true? | |
| The Waterboys – The Whole Of The Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think this describes someone searching (wondering out in the world for years) for something in their life But being frustrated at the other person who just stays in their room and gets to see it all anyway. (I had flashes, but you saw the plan), suggest that someone is getting glimpses of what it's all about, but the other person already has the wisdom and insight. I was interested to hear the mention of CS Lewis, this could be hinting towards the use of imagination, filling in the gaps in life. (I pictured the rainbow) - stating he had to use his imagination. (you held in your hand) this is a statement rather than a suggestion. The other person is so convinced they have it they are getting the writer to picture it too. The other person has so much confidence in their beliefs that the writter believes this other person even has the ability to fly... There is a lot to be said for faith and unshakable belief in yourself. With inner strength anything is possible. Maybe the other person is striving for this too. But like fruitlessly chasing butterflies, sometimes if you just sit and wait patiently, one will alight upon you. Like happiness. Stop searching for it and it will arrive. xxx |

| Robbie Williams – Grace Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Have you ever noticed that the bossanova start has a very similar melody to the start of a song by The Style Council called Headstart for happiness? | |
