It is Iron Maiden, only Adrian Smith is singing (mainly). It was originally performed at a secret gig Adrian and Nicko did with some friends called "The Entire Population of Hackney", after the gig Steve Harris (Maiden bassist) heard the tape of this song and liked it. Maiden then recorded and you're right it is a bit fruity to be Maiden so it didn't make it to an album instead it's the B-side to Wasted Years. Yes I'm very sad lol. |

I's reckon it's about some guy (or girl) who's taken alota shit for other people, protected them from harm for a personal cost (like a lightning rod protect buildings and people from lightning) and basically he's giving it the big "F**K YOU, I'M NOT DOING THIS SHIT ANYMORE BLAH BLAH"... thank you for your time :P |

the 'one' of 'Conspiracy Of One' refers to the fact that one person with the right stuff (aka a bomb) and a pair of giant steel ones could start world war III, similer to Tom Clancy's The Sum Of All Fears sorta thing. whereas before during the cold war the threat came from an organised army (aka USSR). Or whatever makes you happy I don't really mind... thank you for time :P |
