i dont get it. i dont actually get the meanings behind the lyrics to any of their songs, it all seems very very convoluted... makes me feel stupid :-s incredible music though, and their film clips are utterely mesmerising. anyone want to explain? |

Personally, i dont really think that this is necessarily about vampires. I think that vampires are a metaphor for all the bad shit that went down around the time this album was recorded (drugs, depression, alcohol etc). I think he felt that these demons or vampires were sucking the life out of him, and while they were most certainly hurting him, i think hes saying to his loved one that i wont let these less desirable personality traits hurt you. I also think this might be referring to some of the people they used to associate with when they were going through their little drug phase. Just a thought... |
