The correct lyrics, I think: Ohh! You're a lie (it’s true) I don't believe a thing Has she been asking for me Hurry up let's go don't want to miss a thing C'mon love is all we've got and everything in the bottle is gone Hurry up let's go don't want to miss a thing Slow down my heart will break in two yes a heart can break in two Hurry up lets go lets break this heat in two And everyone is all dressed up You came to me and I said yeah yeah yeah -end- My interpretation: You're a lie (it's true) I don't believe a thing Has she been asking for me He's saying someone is a liar (it's true means that he fully believes that) and that they don't believe a thing they say. "Has she been..." makes me think that this person is lying about the way someone else (a girl, maybe an ex of some sort) feels about him. "Hurry up let's go don't wanna miss a thing C'mon love is all we've got and everything in the bottle is gone" Maybe he has been drinking a lot ("...bottle is gone") but now, he's starting to hope that what the liar is telling them (she;s been asking for him) is true. Now he's going to her because he doesn't want to miss a chance. "Slow down my heart will break in two yes a heart can break in two hurry up let's go let's break this heart in two" Here, he's telling (her?) to stop changing her mind so fast. Does she want him or not? He wants her to make up her mind and be steady with her decision; but in the last line, he's thrown his annoyance away and doesn't care so much if he gets hurt. He only wants her. "And everyone is all dressed up You came to me and I said yeah yeah yeah" I take everything literally; the first line makes me think that they're at a fancy event of some sort and meet up. If I dare to look further into it, I would say that 'all dressed up' means everyone is fake and puts on a facade, including her, and now he is too. The second line is pretty much saying that yeah, she wants him, or she's saying she does, and she always comes back to him, and he's glad about it. I may be totally off, but that's how I see it. |

| Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Some people have mentioned before that this song is about a guy who is dating a daughter, but wants the mother. I dont see how that makes since because this: "Beauty queen of only eighteen She had some trouble with herself He was always there to help her She always belonged to someone else" The way he uses "always" implies that they have known each other for a long time, and have been very familiar during that time. If he was dating a daughter, he would not have known the mother when she was 18. I don't think the video really has much to do with the song, unfortunately. |
